I'm sure hopped would appreciate your thoughts and well wishes. He had a pretty bad car accident this past weekend. Home and healing now. Pretty scary incident though
I am back to work. It will be a while before I have much use of my left arm, which was pinned underneath my truck for about 45 minutes until the firefighters cut me out. Amazingly, the only damage is to my left arm (soft tissue, tendons, arteries,no fractures). And my truck is totaled. Rollovers will do that. I will need more tendon repair and possible skin grafts after the open wounds heal. I'm currently only using the pain meds just before my appointments to clean and re-wrap my arm, which is every other day. I also found out I am diabetic, so I've been hit with a lot in the last week and a half. At least I've met the crazy high deductible for my health insurance for the year. It could have been a lot worse.
Thanks for the thoughts and well wishes. I'll be back in no time.
hoppedup, good to hear you are up and around. Going forward with the "It could have been worse" attitude is the best attitude. While many things will suck during the healing process and for some time afterwards you will heal and you are here. Sending positive vibes and good thoughts your way.
Wow....glad to hear you are on the mend......take care of yourself! Can you change your diabetic status with diet and excerise or will you need insuline to help?!
No insulin required. I may even be able to dump the Metformin eventually. Had blood sugar levels almost back to normal my last two readings. Left arm rehab is going to take a while.
I'm getting some motion back. I can lift my arm now and have been changing bandages myself for over a week. The open wounds have almost healed. I taped a show a couple of weeks ago and luckily another taper was there to help me set up and break down. I hope to be fully functioning for Yarn at Red Hat Amphitheater on July 4th!
