Snow and ice be damned! Yarn made it to Johnson City and torched the place! The crowd was better than expected given the weather, but we were definitely missing the North Carolina division of the Yarmy. A lot of new stuff to start the show, then they just opened it up and played request for a while. According to my notes, it went something like this: 1.)Easy Rd Let Go Life is Weird This is the Year Hard Times Your Company Madelyn Lies I've Told Christopher St. (maybe the best version of this song that I've ever heard) Sultans of Swing (Dire Straits) Tennessee Abilene Strikes and Gutters Hank Didn't do it This Way (Waylon) Summer Ends Love You, Hate You Alone on the Weekend NYC Found Creep (Radiohead, WOW)
The best part of Saturday night was knowing you get to wake up and do it all again the next day! Sunshine, some comfort food, and a lil hair of the dog that bit us and we were ready for an acoustic round 2. 1.) Time Burns On Can't Slow Down Sweet Dolly Musics Only Outlaw Angel Place that Halo Bobby Weeks 5 Guitars Austin, TX '72 Lukenbach, TX (Waylon) Empty Pockets 1 Mans Trash (they tweaked the beat to this one a bit, "Waylon Style" is what Blake called it) Girl on the Side Dirt Rd Schenectady Annie Dark Skies I'm the Man Shake this Thing Cat & Mouse Never Tear us Apart (NXS)
E.) Sultans of Swing (Glad we got this twice, they kill it)
Glad it was a good show! I barely made it off of my street this morning to get in to work. Some of the tertiary roads around here were still about 2" compacted snow and ice. I had to get up a head of speed and make a blind turn to get to dry pavement. Luckily nothing was coming.
Sultans of Swing?!?! Tough song to cover I'd imagine. Creep sounds like it would be perfect for Yarn.
