Anybody going? Got our tix today. Double-bill w/Dangermuffin. They play in Philly the night before and then this show before the Gathering of the Vibes gig.

Philly on a Wednesday and Bridgeport on a Saturday don't sound as good as Teaneck, New Jersey on a Thursday. I mean, come on...what does?
  1.
Since we finally have a new car that will get us there, we're planning on making this one~

Yup. Swear by it. Staying about 6 miles away in Paramus. With Jersey traffic, that's about, what...an hour away from the club?

Once again a sleepless night... If I had only known in advance, I’d be at Yarn in Philly. Damn my timing.

Ah Teaneck... home to some of the best pastrami sandwiches on the planet. Such memories... Thought I would make it to this one, but I guess I pale on the Yarn fan scale by comparison with you all...
Paramus? Really Tous? mall capital of the world. the area that, in my humble opinion, gave New Jersey a bad name long before some MTV executive had any ideas of reality TV. This is the area were I grew up, and I can’t say I miss it much. I got my first piercing in the Paramus Park Mall... (Sorry to disappoint you Amy, it was only my ears)
Yes, Tous, you may be sitting on Route 4 for a bit.... Enjoy it. it’s all part of the charm. Don’t you know even Captain Kirk jumped the Priceline ship?
You know I’m kidding... have an awesome time guys....!

Far be it from me to rub it in your faces or anything...but with traffic and all, we decided to come right to the club. The boys are up doing a soundcheck now of Molly Hatchet covers. Wow. A 17:00 version of Gator Country!

    Holy crap!

    J. Wall has joined them for just a stunning version of Springsteen's "Jungleland"! It being Jersey and all, all eyes are looking around for a certain special guest. We'll keep you posted.

Wow...maybe you NC folks can answer...when does a soundcheck just become an early show? Just Trevor and Blake now with sublime harmonies on "Pale Blue Eyes" with some old guy they say wrote it. Drew Reed or something? His voice ain't half-bad.

To quote earlbny, I think my head is about to to explode.

Ok...no BS this time...just an awesome fun time....smiles all the way around from the band to the crowd to the sound guy...

Nice set from Dangermuffin to open. Their new disc is excellent.

    Yarn up about 10pm.

    Annie
    Tennessee
New song (I'll guess at a title when I review the recording)
    Carolina Heart (wow...harmonies)
Down On Your Luck (funky intro)

At this point Mike Sivilli from Dangermuffin joins for the rest of the night)

    Roadhouse
    Can't Slow Down
Dark Skies (Blake asks for a ballad request from the crowd)
    That's Just Fine

Now Steve from Dangermuffin joins Bobby on drums...dual side-by-side kits

Outlaw (Holy crap....I mean....Holy fucking crap!)

    Now Dan Lotti joins

Sitting on Top of The World (Trad)
    Lovelight (Holy fucking facemelting shit!)
Franklin's Tower (aka Roll Away The Dew)

Not many songs but a solid 2 1/2 or so hours.

Hope the recording came out...Trevor also recorded and Mrs. Tous shot a video or two we'll post.

Obviously a practice run for the Vibes show tomorrow so whoever's going is in for a real treat.

Thanks for the review Tous. I wonder if the new song was what I called "All Shines Through" they played it as the opener last Thursday when I saw them. Andrew and Rod absolutely tore it up. Glad you had fun and saw and awesome show, have fun today.

While I am happy to have a job it still sucks. I went from the best gig in the world to being out of my comfort zone overnight. I came home from work yesterday and crashed. Would have much rathered have my face melted off. Thanks for rubbing it in. I am going to that 8/1 show so I can feed my adiction. How was the new song? It sounds like another classic Yarn song. The new Dangermuffin album is great. I love it. It's the perfect summer album.

    Thanks Tous,
Sorry I missed this one as well, but I'm thinking it was subliminal, I owe so many rounds of drinks to you attendees that I would have walked out with completely empty pockets.
    Yes, Teaneck can be fun...
I have never NOT had fun in Teaneck. But all I heard about on this thread is Yarn, yarn, yarn, it's like you guys are obsessed or something.
What I want to know is how you liked Paramus?!
(of coarse I'm kidding... I'm still a Springsteen-lovin' Jersey girl at heart)
Please don't let that color your opinion of me :)
    Thanks again to all.

    Paramus?

I googled that name and it derives from the Eastern Sioux word for "Land of pavement, malls and diners".

    'nuff said.

Thanks for the show tous. I only sampled a bit but it sounds great~
