Great seeing the band and the Yarniacs again...been too long. This band is as tight as ever.
Highlights:
That's Just Fine (probably best version I've heard) Wishing Well (slowed-down a 1/2 step...very cool) Turn The Light Off (their answer to the guy screaming..."show us what you got boys!") Roadhouse (great jam)
We've got three versions of this show, I think. Mine came out ok, although vocals are a little off. Upload to come.
Terrific party and happy birthday again to Yarnfollower. Good show and a pretty large crowd. Too bad it wasn't one less as a particular assface did his best to disrupt shit all night but the band played around him and finished strong. Agree with tous' highlights. My recording's not too bad but they're all gonna be a bit chatty.
I decried the lack of shows for us East coast folks with Blake and he said he there's gonna be some more dates popping up and he thinks perhaps Arch Street so here's to wishin'
Thanks Lawna for a real good time and as always, thanks to Yarn~
Thanks to cd2go & RC for the help in "taping". Sounds ok...lots of whoopin' but, hey, it's Yarn at the Roadhouse!

This Monday is off to a better start now that I've seen that the new show's uploaded already! Thanks, tous! And good luck, dithering, RC ;) - we sure do apprciate your efforts, guys!
Happy birthday, yarnfollower - great way to celebrate! :)
RC, I don't dither/resample anymore, I just leave everything at 24/48. I am inviting everyone to step into the 21st century and stop burning CDs. I figure most people are downloading mp3s of the LMA shows since they make grabbing the flac files in one shot a PITA. I use downthemall plug-in for Firefox to grab flacs from archive. I found that when torrenting, when I posted 16-bit versions, people would ask for 24-bit. Now that I only post 24-bit, folks ask for 16-bit. A lot of tapers post both. Meh, that's more work for me.
When I did dither/resample (you'll have to do both to burn to CD) I just set my export options on my audio editor to export at 16/44.1 and it did it all. A lot of tapers use r8brain to resample: http://www.voxengo.com/product/r8brain/ I believe it dithers, too. Not sure.
I'm not against dithering and resampling, I just don't see the need of having an extra file set at a lower bit depth and sampling rate. Just taking up space on my hard drives. It's a personal choice, really.
Listening to tous' source right now. Chatty, but those DR-08 internals do a pretty good job. Was this in your shirt pocket, tous?
hoppedup, I agree 100% about your 24-bit commentary. Tous' recorder was attached to my clamp which was clamped to RC's stand. I can't believe I forgot to snap a rig picture :( maybe RC got one?? I'm at work now but plan to upload my source tonight. Thanks Tous for the quick upload!
I like to burn to a CD mainly for the purpose of being able to hand out copies to friends and students. We also have a CD player in tangled's car and it's the way that I have always imported them into itunes. Last night I saved the files and put in tracks using CD wave. When trying to burn to disc, I can only fit a couple/few songs before filling a CD. I don't even know what dithering means and now you're telling me that I need to resample as well? I'm so lost.
So I put the finished files into itunes and they dropped in fine and played back on my desktop PC. When I synched my ipod, the titles all went in fine as well. When I tried to play the songs off my ipod, it just skipped them all to the next album. I can't even get my ipod to play them.
Anyone know at least a quick fix to get my ipod to play them for now?
I've been converting the FLAC files to ALAC so I can play them on my iPod. I may not understand the format completely but if you only have the high quality files available to you on your compute what good is that when you're limited by the quality of your computer speakers. One way or another the file quality is being compromised whether it's due to the speakers or conversion/dithering. I'm in my car a great deal through the week so I have to convert these to be able to listen to them in a car.
My 4th time seeing the band, and I'm hungry for more! This band's songs in both quality and quantity, continue to impress me. Great seeing everyone, thanks RC for the clamp space and company; hope to meet more of y'all at future shows!
So psyched that you've caught the bug cd and it was great to see you again and meet your wife. Thanks for posting youur set. Not sure when we'll get another show close by. Let's keep our fingers crossed for Manchester or Hartford.
....my next one is number 50!!
.....and I don't know why it didn't occur to us to patch tous into my rig. That's what we should do in the future~
Thanks for all the love that night, I won't forget it. Saw my dad today, and he thought the tatt was marker......he thought I was smarter than that. Oh well, he can't see it from his house! That's what he always used to say, working on my house putting up trim with his new tri-focals (spelling). Did any one plug into the sound board? Thanks again to all that came out and especially YARN!!!
