Ok, so...good news? You're seeing Yarn two nights in a row. Bad news? Not many other people turn out for night 2. Good news? They open with "Let Us Pray" Bad news? About 1/2-way through their set, Blake literally counts the number of people in the club. Good news? They turn it into a quasi-rehearsal and we get to hear some Leftovers and some brand-new songs. Bad News? Yeah, you weren't there! Good news? Andrew & Trevor both recorded so...um...maybe... Even more good news? Mrs. Tous shot a couple videos links below.
I told Blake after the show I was channeling earlbny...Can you just write a bad song and get it over with? Folks, for songs that they haven't played too much (see the videos), these are pretty damned good.
Lastly...small photo gallery here (including a classic "check the book" shot) http://tinyurl.com/3ltuz2k
What a sweet looking show. Yarn can play a song for the 1st time and make it sound as if they have been playing it for years. They are just that good. As the Counting Crows would say it's such a shame shame shame. They should be selling out venues all across the USA.
Thanks for the recap, tous, and thanks to Mrs. tous for the videos! Sounds like the fall harvest of new songs will be a good one! Saw "Reckless" listed as a new one - did Blake write RC a theme song?! ;)
Reckless was also played at Old Winston Social Club by Ted Bundy on 2010-07-14. Maybe that one will see the light some day. I got the set list figured out a while back. I'll bump that thread.
