Yeah... I would say The Dirt Road does it to me as well... I have listened to the one from Charlotte in June about 100 times and the first one with the Andrew Hendryx Band as much... Let Us Pray is also up there... I took a quote from the song have it displayed in giant letters in my classroom..." THis is Life that we live it's a celebration take some chances." Beautiful words and what I hope to instill upon my students.
ITA about everything said in this thread. Each new songs tops the one before it. I am digging keep me far from my home and end of summer. Dirt Road is off the charts. I only heard it live once and they blew the roof of the song. They jammed it out for 9 minutes oor so.
What they said! Totally echo everyone's thoughts! And how cool was it to watch that many of the Morning Songs evolve from Blake's sleep-crusted youtube videos into Yarn magic! It was neat to see how quickly they go live with a song! As far as the newest songs, my favorite of the Morning Songs is definitely The Dirt Road (although My Wasted Life has such a beautiful harmony on the chorus - and there's a NC shout-out :) and before that it was Almost Home and/or It's All Over Now... Suppose that will probably change after I get caught up on the latest shows!
Does anyone know when they're going back in the studio? Or maybe these songs were born to be on a live album! The Dirt Road is an amazing jam live...
.....and you left off Along The Way and Good Lady.....quite a burst of tunes there indeed. It seems like they abruptly pushed out a few of the gems from last fall though, like Desperate Amy, Tired Of Everything and Bottle Of Wine. Don't see them popping up much anymore. Oh well, too many good songs is a great problem to have.
... Oh yeah, I don't know how it slipped my mind... but while at the Chapel Hill show Blake told me that they would be releasing two studio albums within 6 months of each other, one electric and one acoustic... that's how they are going to get all those new songs out there...
ITA. I looooove this song. I am waiting for that killer 25 minute jam. Where the band gets lost and Andrew and Rod tear it up. This song is off the chains.
