    Hey All:

So as some of you know, I had a Yarn yard party recently. To commemorate the event (woo-hoo, it was awesome!), I designed a T-Shirt, which in one version included commemorative date and location information. I had a second version made minus the date and location info - so just the graphic. I was a little over zealous, had a few too many shirts printed, and now have a few left (3, to be precise).

I'd like to offer them to the first 3 crazy Yarn fans. :-) I don't want any money for the shirts. Was thinking recipients could send however much they can afford to the band directly. I've checked with Amanda Fletcher (band manager) about this, and the band is cool with the idea (no TM infringement issues), and she's provided me with an address to send the checks. It is:

    Ardsley Music
    815 18th Avenue S.
    Nashville, TN 37203

If someone can explain to me how to post a picture of the shirt here in the forum I'll happily do that. :-)

It's a pretty simple but kinda cool design. It's the word YARN stacked three times in varying colors. Each YARN has an instrument in it - an upright bass in one, a guitar in another, and a mandolin in the third. The instruments are purposely hard to detect. Sort of like an optical illusion. You could easily miss the instruments the first time, which is kinda what makes the shirt interesting to me.

I was at the Southpaw show recently and gave one to earlbny. If you want an objective opinion of the design and shirt quality you can ask him. :-) It's a super soft, very thin shirt. It's called a "destroyed" tee, so it looks somewhat vintage, like it's been worn many times. I only have mediums though, so if you're on the bigger side the shirt will probably be too snug (or at least only wearable as an undershirt).

I paid $25 for each shirt. Like I said - I'm not interested in reimbursement. Would prefer that all monies be sent to band. And if you can afford more than $25, awesome.

Of course, this is more about sharing the Yarn love and further publicizing the band and its name than making money for the boys.

Of course if other people want a tee with the design on it I'm happy to have more printed up.

So - can anyone tell me how to post a picture to this site?? :-)

I'd like to see the design. Medium is too small for me or I'd take one from you!

I am wearing the shirt as I type and Spinner did an amazing job. Its a professional looking tee shirt. Its colorful and looks old and worn. That's the style. It also turns you into a walking Yarn billboard. I can't thank spinner enough. I am going to send the band a check. I got to support the best god dam band in the land.

Thanks earlbny! So glad you like the tee. And that's extremely noble of you to send the band a check after I gifted the shirt to you. :-)

badlab - wish I had a large to offer, but if enough people are interested in the design I might just provide a link to the site where you can buy it yourself, in whatever size suits you. The large's were hard to come by. They seem to sell out of that size quickly, so I ended up with many more mediums.

I just posted a couple pics to my wife's mobileme gallery. The first pic is the shirt with the commemorative detail, and the second is the Yarn only shirt. Let me know if this link works:

I've had trouble sharing links to mobileme albums.

Thanks tous. :-) I think it's even cooler in person. Not sure the pic does it full justice. The quality of the shirt is awesome. Ridiculously soft and comfortable. And the graphic colors are sort of muted, vintage-y in the same way the shirt is.

I think I'm just gonna create a zazzle.com store so folks can purchase it themselves, if they want. Will get that up soon, then you can buy the tee in any size you like. Unfortunately, band won't get the money. Funds will go to zazzle. But at least it publicizes the band, and gives us fans another design to don. :-)

There was a great "Yarn your Face" T-shirt at the Poor House show. Think Steal Your face with the Yarn logo in place of the lightning bolt. I'd love to find the person that made it so we could get those too. I know I saw at least four of them at the show.

"wonder how the band feels about the Yarn/Dead shirts"

I can only guess they liked them. Blake called a couple of the girls wearing them up on stage to show them off. The same people made stickers like the shirts and Ricky came up blown away that someone had made them.

so when do we get a chance to buy?
  1.
    Hey Spinner,
I'm back on here after some really busy times this summer and saw this... so glad your yard party went so well... Tenafly! Damn... my family originates from Tenafly. If I had known and was in the states at the time I probably would have crashed. Any of those mediums left? Awesome shirt. I'd really love one that has the Tenafly on it, so I could show my aunt from Tenafly who I introduced to Yarn. would love to sport one and thankfully I haven't spread past a medium yet :) Will gladly send the money to the band so they can put gas in the van. That's awesome about the dead/yarn shirts as well... nice to know. So happy for the boys of Yarn... they deserve it.
  2.
    Welcome back Stoney~

Count me in.....would love one or two.

    Hey Stony:

Wow - another Tenaflickian! Amazing. :-) Would've loved to have had you over for the gig. It was a wonderful evening in every respect.

I'm in SF on business all week, back on Saturday. Happy to send you and RC a shirt if you send me your addresses (and will certainly send the Tenafly commemorative tee!). Will put in the mail as soon as I get back to the East coast.

Looking forward to the Hill Country show on the 6th. Bringing about 10 friends for that. :-) Anyone else hitting that show??
  3.
By the way Spinner... my Dad and Mom were both Tenafly Tigers, visited my grandparents there until they passed away...(didn't want to give you a false impression, I'm from up the road) Thanks so much!
