There is nothing like a hometown gig. I hope to see each and every single one of you at this show. No excuses. LOL I am so excited to be able to buy a ticket for this show to keep as a souvenir. Every Yarn I have been too other then the boat show has either been free or pay at the door. Also unless I read it wrong ticket web says Friday, Jul 08, 2011 9:00 PM EDT (8:00 PM Doors)
    - Saturday, Jul 09, 2011 3:00 AM EDT. I hope thats correct and means that Yarn will be jamming all night long and playing a 6hr show.

    Friday, 7/8
FRONT & CENTER MAGAZINE PRESENTS: an evening with YARN / special guest

Brooklyn-based Americana/Alt-Country band Yarn’s sound owes as much to Gram Parsons and Earl Scruggs as to Jerry Garcia and Exile On Main Street-era Rolling Stones. Following in a fine tradition that includes forward thinking roots bands like The Flying Burrito Brothers and New Riders of The Purple Sage, Yarn weaves roots music idioms into a fresh sound that turns on hipsters and fans of country music alike, with technically impressive song-crafting and universal tales from the road of life.

    18+ w/ ID
admission: $10 advance / $12 day of show

Is anyone else besides me planning on going to this show? No disrespect to Sullivan Hall or any other venue in NYC but this is a real true hometown gig.

Eric - I'm going to be going to this show. Bit of a trip from NJ, but looking forward to the hometown vibe. Planning on bringing my wifey. :-)

    Is anyone taping this?

Should be a fun hometown gig. I wonder who the special guest is or if Yarn will be playing all night long without anyone else? I hope the talkers stay home or find a another place to drink on friday. I won't be taping. I have no gear. Ill post the setlist and a killer review.

    Yarn Southpaw Setlist 7-8-11

some girl is opening the show. I don't know her name. She's some Folk Pop singer. She's not Yarn but she's not bad. This girl can sing.

Full Band including Jay Wall on Sax. No Bobby. Jay is filing in on drums. No Ricky B. Someone who I don't know is filling in on bass.

    Set 1 10:14

    Let Us Pray
    Bad Bad Man
    Tennessee
    Down On Your Luck
    Abilene
My wasted Life (Sad but Pretty)
    Can't Slow Down
    Annie (I love this song)
    Its All Over Now
    Dark Skies

Yall ready for the real half

    Almost Home
NYC Found (killer solos all around) (You had to be there) (Blake gave a shout out to the drummer and bass player)
The Dirt Road (My new favorite song) (Epic) (I am numb) (9;35) (Blake said it was a hit)
Nick the Flute player and friend of the band is on stage for DBMHA
Don't Break my Heart (killer flute solo) (Nicks on the Night Train)
    Shane on stage
I wanna Be Neil Young (Shane on Lead Vocals) (its a loud rockin party) (Yarn!)

    End of show 12:20

Tonight I witnessed the greatest rock and roll concert from the greatest muther FUCKIN band on the planet.

Trevor said that DBMHA was insane. It was like listening to old school Santana jam.

Southpaw was not even close to sold out which is such a shame.

I also lost a few pounds from dancing my butt off.

This was the most fun I've had at a Yarn show since the last one. Lol

No problem guys. I hope Andrew turned his recorder on as well. After the show I said a quick hello to the band and then had to run. So I did not get a chance to ask Andrew. I did manage to pick up the leftovers CD' and a copy of Yarn's magazine spread. If I missed the last trian back to the beach I was screwd. Now I need another Yarn fix. Last night made my Yarn Addiction worse.

I think Bobby is just out of the country for now. I believe I heard it was his dad's 70th birthday.

    Thanks for the info.

I read the front and center magazine cover story. It's a great read however they give Jay credit as the drummer. No mention of Bobby except for his photo. The article sounds as if I wrote it. They talk about the band playing country music for people that don't like country music. They also talk about the studio albums and guest spots and the not to be missed killer live show. Aftere reading it if I did not know who Yarn was but was a fan if music I would run and check them out. I highly recommend picking this magazine up. i have a few extras if anyone wants me to mail them a copy.
