Welcome, Guest

  1.
This will be a new venue for Yarn. Seems like they have been going a lot of different places in VA lately. Anyway, look forward to this, as I think it will be my next Yarn show, unless I decide to do something unexpected.
  2.
They have promised us some deep cuts on Friday! Can't wait to see what comes out of the bag of tricks!

SouthernMan, Waynesboro is in your neck of the woods, correct? Any hotel recs nearby? Do you know if they've got uber up that way?
  3.
Wayneboro is about 35 miles from me on the other side of Afton Mountain. You would be welcome to stay here and ride with us. Cant say I know any specific hotels and though we have Uber here in cville I kind of doubt it in Waynesboro.

SoutherMan, we may take you up on it. We'll look for you at the show. Any alcohol at this place?
  4.
I have no idea about the alcohol. I've never been to the venue and the website doesnt say but I'll ask one of my Waynesboro friends tomorrow.
  5.
Yes to alcohol at the Wayne. Hotels at the same exit are Super 8, Days Inn, Holiday Inn Express.

My friend thinks they have Uber in Waynesboro but hasn't actually used it.

See you tonight! You Got to Get Up!

Strikes and Gutters opener.....it was all uphill/downhill depending on your point of view. Show 1 of 3 in 8 days....life is good, so good
  6.
    ...downhill?

Another terrific thing about this band...no set openers. You just don't know what they're going to open with.

Downhill as in they gained a crazy amount of momentum with every song. Such a great night, I'll get a set list on here at some point. Can't wait for the next one!

I have a lot of thoughts on this show which I may get to later today.

Just wanted to note that by my count they gave us four deep cuts:

    Final Bow
    Yodelay
    Girl On the Side
    This whole Zoo

Blake said it had been 9 years since they played Yodelay (but they played it last week for Trevors birthday when he joined them, I guess at Cafe Lena) and 6 years since they played Girl On the Side.

Hope I didn't reverse those, but Im pretty sure thats what he said.

That's Just Fine could make a triumphant return and what a flash in the pan My Sweet Anna Lee was :(

Just too many great songs to play 'em all.

So I taped this show and should be able to edit it soon to share it. Had to leave a few days after the show to work in florida and now have been safely evacuated back to Virginia due to the storm.

Grabbed the board patch but also ran a pair of mics back near the board. The board alone sounds great but a little sterile so hoping mixing a little of the mics in will help.

I've taped yarn a bunch over the years but this is the first time I've seen them since Andrew left. Was worried it would be missing a lot and while I do miss the mando, I think they still sounded really full together.

Probably won't bother much with the opener due to that crazy buzz from the mandolin unless someone specifically wants it.

Would love to hear your recording grayp and welcome to 5G~

Glad to hear you're safe from the storm....good luck to your friends and any of your stuff that had to stay behind.

    Welcome to 5g, grayp.

very pleased to hear (and surprised) that this show was recorded and happy that the deep cuts they played will be able to be shared.

Not sure what your radius is but I live in Central VA and hit most of the shows here (C'Ville, Richmond, Harrisonburg, etc). and if there's anything I can do to facilitate you taping at other shows I'd be happy to do so.

Here's mp3's of the sbd. I kind of forgot about it with the storm and all. Still need to determine the right aud/sbd mix but have 24 bit of it all. SouthernMan, I'm in Fluvanna County between C'ville and Richmond.
