Great lineup. Back in the fall I saw the Marcus King Band. After the show I was talking to the band. I asked them if they ever heard or or crossed paths with Yarn. They said no. Now they are both on the same bill.

Marcus King sitting in with Warren Haynes over New Years. He is playing with lots of big names lately. Kid is blowing up for sure and his music is great. Also, dont miss Anders Osborne at this fest. he puts on a great show, will probably play with Eric Krasno, and he is a New Orleans staple you should check out.
  1.
If you are headed to this fest, make sure you check out Trongone Band. They are a good Richmond area band. Have seen Andrew Trongone sit in with Yarn a number of times and they criss cross paths frequently.

Going to second the Marcus King being great. Going to see them next month with Eric Krasno Band.

Also, although I have never been to this particular fest, I have lots of friends that go and all speak very, very highly of it.

We are, for the time, a one fest a year family. That fest has been Lockn (which I've been advocating for Yarn to be on the bill, without success so far) but if we were to do a second fest, I think it would be Rooster Walk.

Marcus King is Warrens little music brother.

I saw Anders with North Mississippi Allstars. It was such a great show.

Lockin would be awesome. A band who seems to play Lockin all the time is Umphrey's McGee. They played Mountain Stage together.

Rooster is a great fest. Really easy in and out. Lots of space and the fest grounds are really nice.

    Who's going?

Who has been to this VA Festie? Bobby Bonhomme told me it's his favorite East Coast Festie. It's supposed to be very chill & easy access to music. Anybody with experience got some advice? Is VIP necessary to enjoy to the max, as I've heard?

    Inquiring minds want to know!

I've been a few times now. VIP gives a slightly closer camping spot, some special food offerings in the VIP area, and shower access. I think you get all the music access you need with the GA pass. I wasn't able to make it last year so they could have changed things. Overall great fest and laid back as you were told.

    Merci beaucoup, Monsieur Brouche!

Forgot to add that this is one of the best lineups I've seen them have. That's saying a lot cause even when I thought it was a light year I still left felling very thankful I was there
  6.
Do you think you might go this year, Brouche?

That was terrible. Nobody ever go to this festival. Said no one who ever attended RoosterWalk. Johnny and William have built something really special here. Look for audio and video in a couple of days. Good times with emptypockets and DJeasywind and many other music lovers

Thanks for taping. My time has been slammed and I haven't been able to listen to any of this yet, but looking forward to it.
  16.
I love everything Yarn does, but I'll say I'd rather listen to a Yarn set of Yarn songs than a Yarn set of Rolling Stones songs.

I really like when they throw in a cover or two, but listening to an entire set of them singing somebody else's songs leaves me feeling like I missed the Yarn experience.

They played a Yarn set earlier that day. I kinda liked the change of pace. And the song selection. I'll probably be a one fest a year guy for a while. And Rooster Walk is it for me. They treated us tapers great.
