Hmmmm, it was looking like sucking it up and enduring Cafe 9 next weekend but this date just popped up. Pretty close for you guys tousky and on a Saturday night to boot.
So, crammed into a stuffy New Haven dive or Lobsters and Yarn outdoors under a big shed.
Terrific night of great music out in the open air on a beautiful evening.

Thank Tous! Loved, loved, loved being at this show! perfect outside venue. Perfect weather. Good crowd. It was a bizarre Lobster Dock with no cover and BYOB. Pretty sure band was hired by a large group that was there for a birthday party, and we all go tot benefit from it. Great dancing crowd for second set. Sound was just unbelievably clear and great. And a Saturday night party it was.... Highlights for me: -First time seeing the reworked More... Ricky B owns the hell out of that and its great. -The spacey jam in Turn Light Off was perfect sound for the band. -Been almost twenty shows since I last caught a Strikes and Gutters... Ahhhhh. Rod. 'Nuff said. - new songs were outstanding! - Especially Better Way. -And the memorable yet highly distracting dinosaur incident during Let You Down. A small child ran and threw a big plastic dinosaur into the marina water. Mom freaked out like it was the hope diamond and hopped a fence and jumped in to "save it." Hysterical.
Thanks Yarn! Get better every time.....
PS - Back in the studio in October for a new record soon!
Nice recording, thanks tous. Went into this show with very little expectation in regard to the venue, certainly not Yarn. I was very surprised in a number of ways. While the set up was a little funky, it worked. Plenty of room to Shake You're Body To The Ground and plenty of room for the folks that were dining, it just worked. The venue went overboard as far as hospitality and taking care of the band (they were hired by the venue, and looks like they may score some more gigs out of this event). It is redundant to say nice set list (as usual), they are really "practicing" those new tunes and they are awesome. Good to see everyone and I look forward to the next time.
During the load in the sound guy asked me what kind of music they played, after I told him I said let me know what you think at the end of the night. He agreed and added I have to tell you I am going to be very blunt in my review, I said look forward to it. The end of the night came and as you said reckless the review was awesome. One fan at a time, one fan at a time. Yarn's day will come.
One more...the "close-talker" that was at the NH and NL shows (with a bunch of friends) traded a few messages with me after I sent him the link to the recording. He was asking about other possible band members and such.....
"Totally get it.. they have a really unique sound and my guess is, they won’t be a small band for long. Great song writing and a good stage presence. I think some larger act will bring them on the road or amovie producer or Hollywood type is gonna pick up on this band and use a few cuts (if they’d allow it) For now, I’m turning every one of my friends on to this band. "
