Prior to last night I've seen Yarn in the Asheville/Black Mtn. area 7 times. I always wondered why such a music oriented town never showed them the love they deserve. Well, show number 8 and the cat is finally out of the bag! Holy shit, listening room be damned, that was a party! The Altamont crammed chairs all the way up to the front of the stage, ha! I've said it before but if you need a chair at a Yarn show you're doing something badly wrong. We started stacking them up by the 3rd song and by set break there was maybe 8-10 left.
The room was packed, the band was on fire and the crowd knew it. "More" was funk, Bobby had some fresh ideas for it, nothing like making an old song new again. "Fallin" translates so well to the stage, monster jam there toward the end. Everybody in the room knew the sing-along songs like "Down on your Luck" "No Future Together" "Let me in" "Wanted to get High" and "I'm the Man". At one point they started to go into a song and had to stop for a minute due to everybody in the room going nucking futs. That may have been my favorite part. Here's a question, how many bands can cover The Jackson 5 and Waylon Jennings in the same set?
We weren't planning on going to Greensboro, but we are now! Who knows, may go for the triple play and slide through Charleston!

This is the Year! More More More!

    Sweet!

    Thanks for the review.

Just saw that 8/12 and 8/13 popped up over in NY state so me and tangled are gonna spend our anniversary with Yarn.

Awesome review. Yarn can make any song sound like yarn.
