For those of you Yarniacs on Facebook, here's my photo essay of last night's YARN IN THE BARN! w/ Todd Schaeffer:

What a great night! The atmosphere was warm and very friendly as the Railroad Earth Hobo Family gathered with my fellow Yarniacs for over 3 hours of fantastic music, in a rustic, wooden Barn up in Sussex County, New Jersey. Driving up there, you'd think you were in the foothills of Vermont, it's just a beautiful area...Todd Schaeffer enthralled the crowd with an engaging Solo set, which included a version of Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On" and Dylan's "Girl From The North Country". Yarn just tore it up for over 3 hours (!!) with lots of old favorites and some songs from the pending CD Release " This Is The Year". Guest sit-ins included Tim Coyle on mandolin and Todd of RRE, who joined Yarn for a lovely "Friend Of The Devil", a rockin' Cold Rain & Snow, and, that's right, The Jackson 5's "Shake Your Body Down To The Ground", which was a Boogie Fest! It was great to see so many familiar, smiling faces!!!

Sounds like I missed a smokin show. I planned on going but my friend was under the weather and I did not feel comfortable driving 2hrs by my self.

Thanks for the great review DJ Easy Wind. All of our time and effort paid off with what was an AWESOME night of music. We all know that when we head out to see a Yarn show it is going to be a great night, and it always is. The addition of Todd Sheaffer to the bill was special in a number of ways. Yarn has shared the stage with Railroad Earth on a number of occasions and most of the members of RRE have at one time or another shared a stage with Yarn. Todd was the only person that the band had not "jammed" with. Blake was very excited when I told him Todd was going to open the show and was hoping Todd might join them on stage. Two things need to be said here, #! Todd was more than happy to be asked to join them #2 Blake and the band were BEYOND gracious in giving Todd the opportunity to not only share the spotlight but to give him the spotlight. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLzUsJSmY_Uubg_cLOpBwMNyCKoxtp6SZE after you watch the video you will know what I mean. Todd told me before he left to "please make sure you tell those guys how much I enjoyed playing with them, please don't forget" Knowing Todd I can tell you that is a compliment of the highest regard. As far as Yarn goes, do I really need to tell you all once again how they played for 3 hours, knocked it out of the ballpark and as usual were just freaking awesome? ...I didn't think so. I LOVE YARN

    Hi,

I just posted my recordings from Saturday night. I was straight back with microphones strapped to the post in front of the water table. There is a good bit of crowd noise and talking but I couldn't get my microphones any higher on the post.

There were multiple sources including a board feed / microphone matrix. Hopefully this will keep everyone satisfied until the other sources appear.

I spoke to Ricky after the nearly 3 hour show and he was still full of adrenalin.

Thanks for the recording. Sounds great. I once saw Yarn play a 4hr show and still had enough energy to play another 4hrs.
