Thought it would be fun to live blog while I'm still coherent. Packed house. Opener still on. Good musicians but an hour? Come on. Need us some some yarn. Enough already... :-) and did I mention Trevor here? Played with the boys last night too... Can't wait...should be fairly soon? Oy!
Rod slayed dirt road. Crowd goes crazy. Rod should get laid tonight. Easily. Now long spacey intro to turn light off. Outer space crazy. This is one hell of a show...
Ok... I got a shout out. Does Blake realize how that never gets old and makes and old time fan feel so good? I think he does on some level. Now a long cat and mouse intro with banter. Blake calls for dance contest with winner gettig entire yarn catalogue. Blake names bob judge. It's on. Saturday night in new haven turning out to be quite the party to be at. Smiling ear to ear..
Blake broke a string. Trevor comes through with replacement. Rhythm jam while blake restrings. Jam great. No one minds. Wow. Did I mention a. Saturday night hoedown? It is..
Ok. This is embarassing. Last song rocked. So funky upbeat and fun. I have no idea what is was. Maybe a cover I think. I'm pretty liquored up but I don't know. No encore even though crowd Called for it. But all good. What a great show.... And nobody with me knew last song.
Band generous and kind with fans after show final thoughts: every show a unique experience. Rod is on fire. Bobby is a badass. Ricky b is well... Ricky b. 'Nuff said. He was so great and kind tonight as always. And Bobby just is a rock. So solid. As I told Rickey. No regrets, no offense, but the group we came with called this the "who is Andrew" show. This band right here, right now, this is yarn.... And they are at their peak.. For now. Sometimes the peak gets higher. What ride. Thanks yarn for a good old fashioned Saturday night rock and roll show....just left.... Almost home...
Great commentary jgoods, thank you very much. Also great to finally make the connection. Both Friday and Saturday were great shows. The Towne Crier is alright but doesn't lend itself to letting folks cut loose. Last night was different. The die hards hung out until the last note was struck. A huge shout out to that crowd, they were awesome. Singing every song and dancing the night away. One of the best Yarn crowds I have ever been part of, they set the energy level for sure. jgoods the song that rocked was "Did Hank Really Do It This Way?" it is a cover and as usual they kick the shit out of it. They (I believe) started doing it over the New Years run was a part of the Waylon set. But it is a rocker for sure. Another wonderful weekend with Yarn. As always it is a pleasure to meet core members of the Yarmy folks that are as fanatic about Yarn as we are, and in some cases even more so. Meeting these people is one of the highlights of being able to see Yarn in many different locations and seeing, feeling and being a part of this incredible extended family is a privilege. Thank you all for the devotion and love you show, you wear it well. See you all out on the road again.
Great to see you too Ricky B! Thanks again for another great night! You guys are simply the best. Blessed for the experiences I have and people I met at your shows
Bob, so glad to finally meet and connect! Privilege indeed!
