Let it rain, let it rain.

The worst fears of playing an outdoor gig came true yesterday. Cloudy all day with a "threat of showers and locally heavy downpours". Well, you hope for the best. When we arrived at this festival for The Narrows Center for the Arts, there was a blues cover band playing to a healthy crowd on the outdoor stage with a bunch of people dancing. Cool...Yarn will knock them silly with their set. Went inside to check out the stage there, came back out to a steady shower as the boys started.

Soon enough we were treated to a heavy rain with lightning in the distance. The cover over the stage provided little actual cover for the band and equipment as the stage soon was covered in water with plenty of puddles around cables and amps. Occupational hazard much? Ricky B says "Um, yeah, I'm a little concerned!"

They soldiered through it bravely with as good a set as you can play through all the distractions (and umbrellas).

Hitting their stride, they pull "Roadhouse" out and you start to forget you're getting soaked.

Well, then the power goes out. The rain gets heavier. Rod and Ricky spend a fair amount of time covering equipment and hoping the laws of water and electricity don't apply today.

Power gets restored and they play a couple more and then peace out, Fall River.

Shame that they didn't get moved inside as the headliner, Shemekia Copeland did. Oh well, to quote my esteemed nemesis Andrew Butler, "still worth the drive".

Recording came out pretty decent (except for raindrops on the mics during Cat and Mouse).

    Oh man, what a drag.

Thanks for the effort though...both band and Touses.

Here's to hoping next Sunday is nice for their Wormtown set.
