As my wife and I were thinking back on our love for Yarn, it dawned on us this weekend marks the 5th anniversary of our first encounter with the band. While that isn't a long time in the bands history, it is a remarkable time in ours. It was the "Skylands Festival" in Blairstown,NJ where we first heard the music of Yarn. We were working the beer tent at the time (how appropriate) so we could not pay full attention to what was happening. However what we heard stuck with us after the weekend. Our affiliation with The Historic Blairstown Theatre allowed us to see, hear and establish a relationship with the band in a very intimate setting for a number of years. Getting to see Yarn whenever we can has led to a number of one night stands as well as extended weekends following the band (when the routing is in our favor) for 2 or 3 nights in a row. It never gets old, can never get enough Yarn.
I speak for my wife and I, however if you are on this page, read it and or contribute to it( I thank you all for doing so) I am speaking for you too, because we all know it. The hard work and talent you give us on every occasion never goes unnoticed Our love, admiration and respect for the band and it's members is beyond words. As a band their music has a place with us that has been unmatched by very few before them. As individuals Blake, Ricky B., Rod, Bobby (a nod to Andrew, Trevor and Cemre) I thank you for your friendship, the joy you continue to bring us, the relationship (and the cocktails) we have been privileged enough to share with you. Thank you for allowing us to be part of you're family (you are certainly part of ours) and proud members of The Yarmy. Looking forward to the new tunes and spending many more nights with you. We love you guys.
Thanks for the time, thanks for the forum.

That Sunday they're part of a free lineup at The Narrows in Fall River, MA with Shemekia Copeland, Milton, Heather Maloney and a few others.

Kindly allow a third Bob to agree heartily. The boys from Yarn have tremendous musical talent, but more importantly they have the passion to deliver their songs in live performance with sweat-drenched intensity, every time, and we Yarniacs reciprocate symbiotically. As a group, we are clearly devoted and committed to Rock, Dance , Sing and Boogie together. Yarn treats their fans as friends and family, and that's a really cool thing. Yarn is the only band that gives me the feeling that The Grateful Dead used to, insofar as danceability, smiles for miles, depth of lyrical content, and a touch of darkness to keep it all real.

Speaking of the Skylands performance, I could have sworn I posted that show up here and on LMA ?! I just can't locate it anywhere. If no one knows the whereabouts, I have a SBD recording of it somewhere, I can still post it for posterity, if folks want me to...

Big Love to Yarn and my fellow Yarniacs!!! Hope to see y'all at Wormtown in September...

Hi DJ Easy, Thanks for adding some more feelings about Yarn. For those of us who truly love these guys the words come without effort and are heartfelt.I know from our first meeting that we are totally on the same page. I don't know if I will ever be able to say enough or fully explain what this band has meant to me. I just keep spreading the word and the music.

I would appreciate if you could post that Skylands show again, as I have never heard it in it's entirety. Thank you and I hope to see you soon.

No argument here RC, it IS for all the right reasons, as well as the consistently great product they put out EVERY time they play. It is amazing how much crap is out there what the people are into and what they will buy. We all appreciate the band that Yarn is and we can only hope that the right pieces fall into place and they get the break they more than deserve. I have seen it happen to "Railroad" in the past 10 years. We all have the same wish for Yarn. We will keep on doing our part and I know with determination they will keep on chasing that opportunity. In the meantime and like I have said before this is the best musical journey I have ever been on. I'm gonna go play me some Yarn.

I've been a fan from day 1. Back when they played every Wednesday night at Hill country. I remember nights when there was about 10 people by the end of the night. Half of those people were in the band or worked at the venue. That did not stop the band from bringing it night after night. Before Rod was an official member I once saw him working the soundboard at Hill Country and then jump on stage and jam with the band. This band has more talent on one finger then most bands making music today. If Yarn was all about fortune and fame they could sell out and make Nashville Pop or Folk Pop. The band would be dead before that ever happened. I was hooked from day one and will continue on this journey till the day I die. I can't wait for new music. The new songs they've been playing this summer sound great. Better then ever. It's a great time to be a Yarn fan.
