Hard to believe after eight years, but then again, that's a longer ride than most bands get, whether famous or not.

Yarn will soldier on, hopefully and Andrew will certainly succeed.

We're all fortunate to have seen all the shows we did with Andrew in the band.

I am deeply saddened by the news. I wish Andrew all the best. Yarn will not be the same without him. He will be missed. Andrew was one of a kind and can't be replaced. I am at a loss for words.

I see this as an enormoous bummer for Yarn and their fans. Of course, the highest hopes are held for both Andrew and Yarn as they forge ahead into new futures...but it is certainly the end of an amazing era that will never be replicated.

I do have confidence that Yarn will put a great new wheel on the wagon and charge ahead. The music demands that. I look forward to seeing both Andrew in his new projects and Yarn in their newest configuration.

We Love ALL of you guys!!!

I think Blake will get excited about this new challenge/ change. Who knows if they'll add another guitarist or maybe a keys player. Either way I expect the same great Yarn experience. Sure it will be different but none of my favorite bands have avoided change through their life spans.

Wow. Brouche said it best about change and bands. And the review of the band without Andrew in the previous thread described the change a comin there. Change isn't always bad and I am eager to see where it takes Blake and his songwriting.

Best of luck to Andrew for the music he brought us and can't wait to hear what he is doing next. A blessed eight years.... Thanks guys and keep on keepin on....

    From Andrews website;
"Andrew is excited to announce the completion of his first solo album. Recorded in a beautiful church in Massachusetts, the self titled recording features members of Rubblebucket, Railroad Earth, Sons of Bill, Yarn, Max Creek, Town Mountain and Mandolin Orange.

He is currently in the studio with his band MandoSaxTronic recording with producer Paul Buck."

As I am sure you have all heard by now, Andrew and Yarn have parted ways. We love you Andrew, we will miss you, and we wish you all the success we know you will achieve in your new endeavors. THANK YOU for all the amazing times. As for Yarn, we're turning it up to ELEVEN. And you can find us right where we belong, OUT ON THE ROAD. See ya there!

After reading the news I started pinching myself thinking that this was all a bad dream. I've now had time to process everything. It's starting to sink in. However I am still in shock. I am not a fan of change. I will continue to follow Yarn and Andrew on there journeys. Andrews got a lot of new music on the way and so does Yarn. I can't wait experience it all. Yarn is a super talented top notch band and will figure it out and keep on truckin. I was worried when the drummers left but the band didn't skip a beat. I've sampled 2 of Andrews solo songs and I LOVE them. They have been on repeat all day. I wonder if the MandoSaxTronic project features J Wall on the sax?

I would bet the house j wall is the sax in that bands name. They are best buds and are co-authors of a published book for middle school children. Also writing a young adult book together called firefly.

Awesome stuff. That makes sense. I've always loved J Wall. I've always been amazed how he could jump on stage like he plays with Yarn every night. He's so talented. What else has he played on? The books sound interesting.

And can someone please check On our dear friend RC? How the hell he hasn't reacted to this major change by now is actually got me concerned....

RC? What you thinking about all this? Where's your head at on this yarn shake up?

    Ha Ha, thanks jgoods.

I'm pretty much on board with everyone else. It came as a bit of a shock and of course a disappointment...and of course I wish Andrew all the best. Goodness what a number of wonderful moments I got to spend in front of that guy while he was just fucking LOCKED into his instrument...whew. I also saw the band quite a number of times and in that time, I enjoyed so many cool conversations with him. Thoughtful and bright and very articulate. Funny that we all wish him the best, heck, he'll make his own best; he's just that good.

I tend to be thankful for what I've had these days though so that tempers the disappointment. Don't care to focus on what I won't have again. Recall too that I spent 15 years in front of Jerry Garcia and that ended as well. I appreciate the time I had with Jerry and I appreciate the time I had with Andrew in Yarn. Of course I'll see Andrew play again and I look forward to that too so the initial bummer about all of this is fading.

I have complete trust in Blake. Rod shredding it, Rickey B thumping, Robbie bangin' away and him leading the way, it'll find it's new course. I personally would like to see keys and organ replace Andrew and it would be nice to see Trevor come back into greater prominence. So there's all sorts of possibilities.

Oh and then there's that little thing about fucking coming North once in a while..that would be nice :)

So I'm off the ledge jgoods but thanks for asking!

Well said RC. It's the end of of of an error and the start of a new chapter. I've been listening to the samples Andrew put up on his website. I LOVE them. Different from Yarn but really good. Now well have lots of new music to listen to. Yarn with an organ/piano would sound pretty sweet.

The band's scheduled to play Wormtown. See ya there Im sure.
  4.
Yay! I'm planning to go to Wormtown!!!
  5.
Wormtown's a terrific festival. Big enough to be interesting, small enough to be enjoyable.

I just wish for once, they'd give Yarn a decent slot. Fucking dead cover bands play after Yarn.
