I started doing this over on taperssection for people to post things they taped on this day in the past. Figured a Yarn thread might be fun here.

    2010 - The Cackler https://archive.org/details/yarn2010-04-22.CA-14.flac16

Brouche's first show. I believe Shakori Hills Festival started that day and there were some other Americana acts in the area, so we had a small crowd. That didn't stop the band from playing a great set, even through The Cackler on Oh My Sweet Carolina.

April 2010...Bobby was with them? Seems lie it would've still been Jay or maybe Chris.

My memory ain't what it used to be though.

On LMA, going by the shows where the taper listed the band members (I always try to), Chris was there on 2-25-2010 and Bobby was in by 3-31-2010. The shows in between do not list the band members.

5 Guitars launched six years ago. I thought the date was 4/27 but looking back, it was yesterday's date. Thanks for everyone's input.

Great thread hopped. Wonder if there'll be a 9/11 entry. If you'd started it a couple of weeks earlier, we'd have caught me and the Touskies first show on 4/3/09...next year then.

    Love Yarn history. Thanks all.

On this day in Yarn history, the finest ever Christopher Street was played at Black eyed Sally's in Hartford, CT. This show also contains the 2nd or 3rd rendering of Dirt Road and it's still my favorite. Slow and slinky with some trippy stuff from Rod. Over the course of time it became shortened and too polished imo.

    2007 Oldie but goodie!

    Yarn Live at Savannah's on 2007-06-30 - https://archive.org/details/Yarn2007-06-30.SBD

2007, just Blake, Trevor, Ricky B, and Jay F.. Andrew not in band yet I believe. Guitarist on whole sow is Mark Steiner. Im thinking this is pre-Andrew and they were trying out and looking for a lead player and Andrew and Blake found each other, but you got nights like this. But that's speculation. Oh how things come full circle in many ways. Great show with a Family Dog song, and other cool stuff. If This is very much how Yarn sounds now without Andrew, we are all soooooo alirght. Love watching the evolution. Taped and posted by Trevor by the way. Enjoy this gem of a show!

Just saw that hopped. Thats the first known recording of Yarn I believe. Looks like the show posted for today was a show Andrew just wasnt at and they had a lead guitarist fill in. But I really love this show. His songs can hold up with no mando and Rod playing better than this guy. And this is a good example.

Crowd was light. Owner is a dick. Blake was not very happy with the gig at the outset. I was on the guest list, but I went back an paid double since the crowd was so light. Tennessee was the sound check but the band just kept rollin' after that. 3.5 hours for about twenty folks, half of whom seemed perturbed to have talk over the music in their bar. Andrew was absent. Sound isn't the greatest in this venue, but the band was pretty good in spite of that. Theodore Bundy made an appearance. It was Bastille Day so I wished Bobby "une bonne FĂȘte Nationale!"

2010: I went to my first Yarn show that I didn't roll tape for. The Double Door Inn in Charlotte is a tough room for audience mics. I later figured out that on-stage tapes can be great there. I just took it easy and watched the lovely ladies of Amelia's Mechanics open for the guys.

I coulda made the drive, but Mrs. Brouche couldn't sleep worrying about me falling asleep. Probably a good call. Damn GPS took us back to 95 instead of 81. It's better when the band is on fire and not their van, which IIRC is what happened before the previous Landhaven show.

    Charlottesville is for tomorrow's post!

I was clamped to you at the front table with the CA-14s and ran the AT-853s farther back in the room.

I remember Sue offered up the extra bed in her room and Al was across the hall before she finished the sentence. That little Cuban Lothario has since settled down with one woman. I remember there was a Mellow Mushroom in the first floor of the hotel in C-ville. Convenient for pre-show. Good times.
