    Lol. Helluva review Buckheart!

    Sorry we missed you~
  7.
Reckless, how did I miss you at the Linda???
  8.
    ....cause I wasn't there!

Shit happened and stuff fell through so we had to bag it.

    Did you tape?
  9.
    Um, kind of.

Blake told the audience that it was the first show in 1,000 that Yarn has played in which his voice gave out. I promised to let him screen it before sharing. I wouldn't hold your breath for this one...

So now the band are screening live performances before posting like they are censoring and pulling comments on this board? Its live music! Its not always perfect! Put it out there. Im sorry, Im annoyed but this is a FAN message board. I am a long time dedicated fan. And comments got pulled that were not derogatory, but merely an opinion of the music. Heres' a thought...... get off the board if it makes you paranoid or criticism hurts guys or if a post is going to affect a band member and their performance. You create art and then get upset when people comment on it? I love this band and their music. Have traveled thousands of miles to see it, hear it, and spread it. Have zero intention to stop. Love this band to be clear.

But they have to stop censoring the fans and trying to control the narrative here. Or pull the board and dont allow taping. Simple as that. Go on a Dead board, Phish, black crowes, etc.... endless debates about which band members were best fit, which sets sucked, which era was better, and plenty of not so great shows posted. Thats the beauty of talking about music with fellow FANS!

Its like sports, if you are playing you are not hurt. If voice was that bad why take the fans money to perform. Because while not his finest hour singing (understandable), they took money from people to hear it. And I promise it wasnt that bad. Own it, man! Put it out there and let the fans know that this is what a road dog band goes through, and this is what our fans love..... that they are genuine, and not contrived (ala 1D or Beiber). Put it out, warts and all, and dont censor!

First I've heard of posts being pulled or deleted. I know that some recordings have been asked to not be posted in the past and still think that's at the bands discretion. They could just disallow taping or posting recordings outright so I have no issue with request of burying a taping. Don't much agree with posts being deleted unless it was in violation of board rules, derogatory, racists, etc.

Im sure its not done often if ever except in my case. Mine was pulled recently and the admin was VERY respectful about it. I posted about Bobby coming back. I said I thought he was a great guy and competent drummer. But said I preferred Cemre because I liked the jazz slant/style he brought. I used the phrase "not doing jumping jacks" over this announcement. Apparently the band asked for it to be removed so Bobby would feel welcomed coming back. Who knew my comment could potentially wreck him. Ha! Anyway, I thought I was fine with it but guess I'm not. I love the close interaction of this band and the way they treat the fans better than most bands. Was just surprised and tweeked when a respectfully dissenting opinion about their music was asked to be removed because a band members feelings may be hurt. So hearing that he wanted to screen a show before posting bothered me and felt the same. My position: Own your performance. We love them no matter what. They play a ton of shows and his voice wasnt great. I like those imperfections. I like that honesty. I want to hear the show. I crave all yarn where I can get it. I find that interesting and genuine. I admire their ability to keep on keepin on night after night.... dont hide that! Embrace it.

I do totally get your stance on burying recordings. I agree with burying poor sound quality, but like the "warts"shows to go up if they sound good. But again, totally get your position on that and considering the alternative of no taping, I could live with that decision. Just struck a nerve when the other post got pulled.

And if they are reading this: I love the band, the music....love to discuss it, dissect it, enjoy it, dance to it, drink to it, and all of that. And sharing music and music discussions is only a matter of flattery. I do this because I care about your music and its important to me and actually helps me in my life in many ways. And so when there is a message board for fans, Im gonna put my two cents in there with other fans. You do so much for us, and I politely ask that you let us post our thoughts about things openly and honestly and respectfully.

jgoods, I don't know why your post was censored and neither do you. Given the isolated nature of it, I'll assume there was a reason.

Did you say "pull the board and don't allow taping?" Those are two things that I for one would rather not see happen. Another thing I wouldn't care to see happen is for this to become anything like a Dead or Phish board. I agree with your premise that banning any negative discourse whatsoever would be absurd but specifically regarding taping, it is precisely the warts going out on the net that some artists fear and I'm not going to judge that 'cause it ain't my ass up there pouring it out in front of everybody. As long as we have the privilege of such a close association between the band and the tapers who follow them, why not lend a small level of control to the guys who make it happen?

Trey can....and has....spent a night drugged up on stage and the mollied kids still show up the next night to fill a huge ampitheater and keep him driving sports cars. Lesh and Weir likewise. These Yarn cats aren't exactly rolling in coin so if a few new fans are turned off by a bad performance, it might just matter.

You can type what you'd like but keep in mind that you don't perform in a band and you don't run taping gear. Two things that you benefit from. If you feel the need to criticise the band and it's members, have at it.

No I didnt say that. My point was that if the band is getting upset with comments about their music or shows, they close shop on board and taping. Was being sarcastic. Exactly what I wouldnt want, but you cant put it out there and then be upset when people comment on it. I was in no way disrespectful or derogatory in that original post. I'm still annoyed is all. Only because I dont want to have to couch words with opinions on music here.

Also to my point, Brouche and you make an excellent point about tapers and allowing the band to control that content. Totally fair. Im convinced, I am not a taper and clearly didnt get that aspect. This board and an open discussion taught me that about taping today and I happy for that. Thats the beauty of open discussion, right?
What you said about Dead/Phish. Tons of trolls and stuff. I get it. I agree.

All i am criticizing about the band I love is that a post by long time fans got pulled that I felt wasnt worthy of being pulled. And I guess I am going nuts over the reason, because it was isolated. I just dont get it and that drives me nuts. Clearly. And you didnt pull it, or this would be a private conversation between us. I would have pulled it too if asked I think, so there is no animosity towards you as we discussed when it happened.

Just passionate about open discussion. Not trying to start a war. I love talking with you at shows. You are one of the most opinionated guys I have ever met and that why I find you interesting. You know what you like and you share it with passion. I dont want that interaction to be lost here or have to worry about it. And that post removal feeling was triggered by Brouches point....which was obviously not the same thing.

And for the record, 99.9% of everything I have ever posted is glowing reviews about the band. You know that. I just have issue with this one.

I could be wrong, but I think if your post got pulled in the same exact manner, you would be annoyed with the ban about it too. That being said....again....Ill be making my travel plans this summer to see Yarn shows in the South. This doesnt change that.

Jesus H! I didn't mean to start an uproar here. No one censored anything! I have made more than one unsatisfactory recording that I have chosen not to upload before, and this one may fall into that category. It's my discretion, you see? But jgoods I don't know anything about board comments being nuked or retractions being requested. However, I respect an artists preferences as to what music gets posted to the internet. Every band that is taper friendly is permitted to set parameters for what gets shared. If a band allows taping at all, you are ahead of the game. Show a little appreciation and deference for a band that is freely generous with their music! Blake is a good friend to all his fans. If he asks me to hear a copy of a recording prior to me posting it, that is between me and him. I'm sorry I said anything about it. There's hundreds of Yarn shows available on LMA. And you're gonna get your panties is a bunch over one 50 minute set that I may choose to not upload? Sorry. I have way too much respect for these artists to put something up that I am not satisfied with as a taper and fan. I've done it before and I'll probably do it again. If you don't like it, get yourself a rig and start rolling.
