This will be my 1st Yarn show on Long Island. I live on Long Island yet I have to drive about an hour to get to this show. It will be worth it. I can't wait. Anyone else going? I cut and pasted the following info from the venue's website.

Yarn
Brooklyn-based Americana/Alt-Country band Yarn’s sound owes as much to Gram Parsons and Earl Scruggs as to Jerry Garcia and Exile On Main Street-era Rolling Stones. Much like its name, the band Yarn weaves country, rock, blues and more into a genre-defying blend that has captured the attention of fans and critics alike. Following in a fine tradition that includes forward thinking roots bands like The Flying Burrito Brothers and New Riders of The Purple Sage. Yarn weaves roots music idioms into a fresh sound that turns on hipsters and fans of country music alike, with technically impressive song-crafting and universal tales from the road of life.
Their self-titled debut record reached No. 14 on the AMA and R&R Radio Charts, and ranked No. 79 on the AMA’s Top 100 Albums of 2007 Yarn’s 2008 follow-up, EmptyPockets, spent months in the top 5 on the AMA chart & 8 First Round 2009 Grammy Nominations Yarn’s third release, Come on In, held its own as the #25 record on the top 100 Americana chart of 2010.
9 PM Butchers Blind
Butchers Blind formed in 2009 in Bellerose, New York. Pete Mancini, Paul Cianciaruso, Brian Reilly, and Christopher Smith came together through mutual friends and a shared love of music. In 2011, they signed with Paradiddle Records, an independent record label based out of Huntington, New York. That year they released their debut CD, Play for the Films. The album was a critical success, garnering the band favorable reviews and radio airplay around the world. Their new record, Destination Blues, marks a significant step forward for the band. Since the album’s release, the band has opened for national touring acts like Blues Traveler, and has shared the stage with influential songwriters like Steve Forbert and James Maddock. When you listen to the music of Butchers Blind, it’s the performance and the songwriting that draws you in - and if you listen close enough, you can hear the future of American music in every note.
8 PM Soundswell
Soundswell is a band of surfers, artists, and free thinkers creating meaningful sound experiences; fusing rock, funk, jazz, and blues, with heavy rhythmic currents and a pulsating beat. Based in Patchogue, these eight musicians explore the spirit of live improvisational music. Each member adds their own color to Soundswell’s canvas, playing an active role in generating a fluidity of sound, a sound that flows from a willingness to embrace each moment, to ride each wave. In little over a year the band has managed to plant themselves firmly in LI’s music scene. They have performed at The Great South Bay Music Festival, The Pennysaver Amphitheater at Bald Hill, Stephen Talkhouse, The Patchogue Theatre, Blue Point Brewery, 89 North Music Venue, Grey Horse Tavern, the Brickhouse Brewery and The Velvet Lounge. Dive on in. Experience the swell.

What a righteous show Yarn did Long Island proud
I've paid $300 to sit in the nosebleeds and watch a band go through the motions. It does not even come close and compare to a Yarn show that cost $10. Yarn is the hardest working best band in mother fuckin land.
I talked with the band after the show. They invited me for drinks but I turned them down. I have a long track home. I told Andrew how the who cover ripped. He said last nights version with leftover salmon was even better. He also said tonight's version of Outlaw was one his faves from the night.
I taped the show and will see how it sounds and will figure out how to upload it.
I put my tascam on a table in the back of the room up in the balcony. It's not the best recording but I can make out all the songs. It sounds pretty good. I would love to hear all of your opinions.
