Very much looking forward to this show,my wife is getting tickets today. Was lucky enough to catch the Blake/Ricky show here on fathers day.Great place, beautiful grounds, pond and waterfalls, byob and a really relaxed atmosphere.Hoping to bring my daughter as a quite a few friends will go if able to bring kids with them.We brought my daughter and her friend on fathers day and they had a blast-just hope her friend didnt mention the F bombs Ricky was dropping,ha,ha.Rumor has it some of the RRE boys will be at the show so hopefully some sit ins like the Fountain House show with Tim and John a few years ago which was fantastic.
In a perfect world: 1) I will be able to attend this 2) Tim Carbone will show up 3) They will do an amazing version of "Ain't that a Sin" with Tim's sweet fiddle adding to it.
It's not a perfect world, so I will be completely content and happy for just #1 on this list. Hope to see you all there.
Gentleman and Yarniacs, Weather is looking a bit spotty for this event but we do have 15-20 people going.Parking is going to be a little tricky as you park on the rural road on the side of farm-we'll car pool as best as possible.I'm thinking and hoping we can bring in a tarp or two and couple of tent poles in case of rain as it is an outdoor show.I'm envisioning loading up the rolling cooler with chairs, beer, water, pot luck food(the wife handles that),beer and some beer.Did I mention a bunch of us took off Monday. The talk at the Blake/Ricky show here fathers day was some of the RRE members will be around-says special guests/HoboStage players on web sites-Blake even played RRE tune Amen Corner that day.So hopefully see some of you there should be a memorable day ,or not, depending on how much of that beer is consumed as,although she does know it yet,the wife will be driving home.
I made it out. great crowd, young and old, Full band including Trevor. got there late, maybe 3 songs in, but so very worth the trip. John Skehan and Johnny Grubb joined in on the second set. Don't miss this one when it hits the archive. I will let the others go into detail as I am always pretty lame with that. I do believe that there were going to be some tunes around the campfire after the show, Blake said he was hanging out. sadly, I had to skip out for an early Monday morning. Hope it didn't rain on their parade, cause we went through some pretty horrible weather later on going west. I told myself the only thing that could make the evening any better would be an ice cream parlor on the way home-- low and behold, a few miles down the road was the Blairstown Dairy, a drive through window, and a delightful cone o' cream.... good times.

On Sunday morning I was listening to a Jazz program on radio station WNTI(Centenary College NJ) and they were playing some really jammin swing tune(Louis Primo?) and the DJ-the Big Guppy?-came on said something like,"whew, man that jam was FAT AND GREASY".I can't think of a better description for the 2nd set on Sunday-it was absolutely FAT AND GREASY.It was a really fun day in a great venue.Seemed like everyone had a smile on throughtout the day and the boys appeared to be having a good time despite the humidity. The Eminence Front was awesome and the interplay between Andrew and John Skeehan was sweet to watch.Everyone that came with us had a blast and will be looking forward to future shows at this beautiful location.Would be really special in the Fall when the leaves are turning-so thank you YARN and BROOKS FALLS FARM for a memorable day.
We drove 147 miles from Eastern Long Island on Sunday to hear some music but had it been 300 it would have been worth it. I personally can't recall enjoying live music any more than I did on this past Sunday. Six Guitars?
We too had hoped to see Tim sit in, but the entire afternoon was perfect nonetheless. Sixteen minute jammed out Eminence Front had me considering dialing 911. I'll be enjoying Tim in Jersey's transfer for a long time to come.
This was one for the "Smiles-All-Around" Books!!! I can't improve on the above statements, and Timme's recording will surely bring more smiles for years to come!
Thanks to Yarn, Brooks Falls Farm, John Skeehan & his cool Mom Lois, plus all the friends old & new in attendance!!
"And all the Yarniacs said "Glory, Glory, Halleleujah!!!"
