Welcome, Guest

  1.
Back to Strangecreek. Tentatively stoked that they're listed for Friday, the opening night. I say tentative because I'm hoping they'll get at least an early evening slot and not some 2:00p.m. Opening night always sees a big crowd at the main stage.

I've been kind of on the fence about this one 'cause it's gonna take a commitment for the whole weekend. Decided to leave it up to the Gods depending upon whether I get my RV pass. Well they were available and I got one so now it looks like I'm heading into hippieville for the weekend. Yarn has always played mid day Sunday with few people at the main stage but this time, they're playing the opening evening of the fest. Wormtown folks told me they're on at 5 or 5:30. Opening night of the fest always brings high energy and while they ought to be the headliners, there will be a good sized and pumped up crowd on Friday afternoon.

What I might do is to take Friday off from work. Load up my pick up camper and head down to The New Haven show on Thursday night, then head straight from there to Greenfield, MA during the night and crash in line to get into the fest. A rather robust plan but I just might be able to swing it.

I've been ill and occupied so this one's a little late.

I don't have a complete setlist 'cause upon checking my gear mid-set, I found my card filled! Cripes.

I got the second half including the Eminence Front that's really sweet. They did play the bluebird Wine but I missed it so we'll have to wait for John D to post the set if he can.

Always nice to see the Greenfield locals including the birthday boy who got hugged by naked dude. It was hectic on opening day as you might guess so Yarn did a get in and get the hell out pace. They sounded terrific.

There was a big crowd in front of the mediocre band that preceded Yarn but of course, when they ended there was a mass exodus from the main stage (New England music fans suck) but after a few songs, a crowd began to form to join those of us already in the know. I really enjoyed the Bluebird Wine...Emmylou Harris.

The weather was excellent for Yarn which was a plus. Poor Donna The Buffalo got rained out and there was only about 30 people in front of the stage for them.

I didn't camp and was planning on going back in for Saturday but alas, shit came up and jack wasn't up for Creek so I bagged it.
