Packed house lots of talkers the band was loud and played over them Most people were really into the show. The band did not let up for a second. It was boogie till you puke. They are now wiping up the floor.
My friends +1 is officially hooked after just one show. I converted 3 people this week.
The band sold a lot of merch tonight.
Out of my 50+ show I think this may be my favorite show ever. I am on a Yarn high. Time to catch my train home back to the beach.
Great review earlbny. Were you standing in front of Andrew? Good seeing DJ Easy Wind again.
This was the best I've seen the band in NYC. It was a tight, focused, ripping high-energy set. Exactly how you have to play there. Some jaw-dropping solos/jams for sure. Venue had a very cool lounge-esque dim atmosphere and I thought the sound was excellent in the audience. I often find that the barometer is how present Andrew's mandolin is in the mix, and that was great last night. I was able to get a board feed in addition to room mics. Hope to edit this soon...
Thanks. That was me I front of Andrew. I almost got a table and then they were all sold out. I had a better time dancing. The room was pretty and the sound was great. I've been to plenty if venues where the sound sucked. Msone killer solos/jams indeed. epic. if anyone left show and did not like it i suggest they get there head examined. My only complaint was the after party. I was on a natural high from the show and then I walked into this gross bar that was playing RAP music and it totally killed the mood.
earlbny, we have kept our crecord consistent, missing each other at shows, ha ha!
james, i was soooooooo releived when i saw your mikes in their discreet but good location. i brought my rig but was late & missed the first 3 songs...can't wait to hear your matrix!!!
great times, fun hanging out with Bobby Bonhomme, he LOVES his old band!!!
We keep missing each other. Next time we will deffineitly meet.
After Yarn exited the stage a DJ set up and played a club/dance version of Fast Car. It did not work at all. It ruined a classic Folk Song. I used to dig that song back in the day.
My ears are still ringing. Must be a sign of a great night.
