Brouche alerted me to a new show. Next Thursday. 1 mile from my house. Woot, woot!
I sent Blake a message to let him know there is an open mic across the street from Blind Tiger on Thursdays. It can be pretty awful. Maybe Theodore Bundy could show up.
The only Yarn show I've seen in the last six months was in Raleigh in April. I was supposed to have my daughter but the ex called and said Maggie really wanted to go to her friend's house for a sleepover that night. I told her it wasn't fair to take away my weekend nights for this stuff but I said okay because it was a big deal for my daughter. I go to the show in Raleigh that night. Some local photog snapped a shot of me with a female friend at the show. Brouche found it and posted it to my facebook wall and I get a nasty-gram from the ex saying, "You just couldn't wait to dump Maggie to go to your show, huh? I hope you and ____ are having fun together." WTF? After she laid into me for complaining about losing a night to a sleepover. I had no plan to go to Raleigh that night and it only occurred to me after I gave up my Friday that I could go to the show.
I am glad this show will fit into your schedule, because the only way I will get to hear it is with you taping it. With the start of school and coaching two football teams, my extra curricular activites (meaning live music and beer sampling) will be almost non existent over the next few months. So tape away my friend, tape away. Go Steelers.
Eyes propped open here at work this morning. A small, but enthusiastic crowd had a rocking good time last night. Short notice and a Thursday night show probably didn't help the turnout. Opener was on by 10, but played 1h10m. Kinda surprised we got a Five Guitars opener. Other highlights were Good Lady, a new tune, Brokedown Palace, These Bars Don't Look Too Friendly, No Future Together. Trevor was along for the fun. Sound was pretty good in the Tiger last night. Hope to get show up this weekend.
Glad you got to go Hopped. Hate I couldn't make it, but it is back to work for this guy. Hell they are playing just down the road tonight and can't make it.
It's funny, I was out every night this week. Now, I'm looking forward to being a couch potato tonight. Have four yards to mow tomorrow so I need to rest up.
They had $2 local micro IPA on draft last night and I still managed to stay relatively sober. The bartenders at my pre-show hang were surprised to see me drinking water. It was Trevor's birthday and he was getting a few free drinks throughout the night.
