Well that was a fun trip. Took off on the bike at 12 noon with plenty of time to make it 4hrs north on Route 7 running straight north from the berkshires. A great road for biking as it has sections of highway interspersed with towns to travel through to break things up. got into Burlington, checked in and took a spin downtown to check out Nectar's. Nice small music club right on main st. Cruised back to my room for a quick nap....thinking to set the alarm thankfully 'cause when that sucker went off at 7:30, I was OUT! Walked into town so I could have a few drinks without riding the bike back.

Found a decent place to hang out and set up gear. I waited to set up 'cause it's always a good idea to check in with the sound people first. Sound dude Justin was very inviting and he also did a great job with the sound really working with the band to get things as best he could. The guys rolled in around 9ish with everyone there except Jeremy so no sax. They started later than usual but then played two long sets to close the bar. My DAT tape ran out to 2hrs40mins. The sound quality is very good. I'm putting the first set and part of set two on the first disc so that I can get it all on two CDs.
    First set was:

    Alone On The Weekend
    Rock You Ready
Bad Luck Man (first time played)
    Bad Bad Man
    Tennessee
    Empty Pockets
    Abeline
    Lies I've Told
    More
    Don't Break My Heart Again
    I Gotta Go

    Set 2:

    NYC Found
    Christopher St
    25 Years
    No Future Together
    Down On Your Luck
    Music's Only Outlaw
    Can't Slow Down
    This Whole Zoo
    Friend Of The Devil
    Lovelight
    Cat & Mouse
    Helpless

Band was on fire as usual with Andrew and Rod trading back and forth some terrific licks. Jay & Rick booming and Blake and Trevor sounding great. Crowd was mostly ok but for a few chatty chicks who for some reason set up camp in front of the band and then constantly screamed at each other over the music. I moved my mic stand away from them but in short order that crew broke up and dispersed. The Red Sox/Yankee snorefest that ran into the 13th inning kept many other chatters in the bar area. After A-Rod cracked that homer, the music half of the hall flooded with folks. Cool enough as the party really got going then although trying to hear a Whole Zoo through all that is tough. That's prolly why the band went into the two Dead covers and got the whole place dancing it up. Great versions of both of them. I'd have preferred a Strikes and Gutters but I suppose a bitter man don't seem to have no say! Ha ha. Seriously, they play so well I'm not concerned with what they play. Came back to close with the Helpless and Andrew really riiiped up that one.

Got to hang with Bev, Andrew's mom who couldn't be sweeter and we had a fun time. Also got to catch up with Lovelight's 'lil Drop Stitch. It was great to see her enjoying the music so much.

So glad I made the trip. After catching a few hours sleep, I was back on the bike heading south, rolling through the hills and the beautiful Vermont mountains in the morning sun, show playing back on the DAT deck with ear buds listening to Andrew and Rod getting all silly on an Abeline and life was good. Had a great ride home for the longest bike trip I've taken.

So many thanks to and for this band~

Thank's for posting the review Reckless. Once again I felt like I was at the show with you. Yesterday was spent sitting on the beach listening to Strikes and Gutters. I am in love. Each new song is better then the last. lol So what was Bad Luck Man like? I am so glad you had fun.

RC...glad you had a good time and a safe drive on the bike. Junior said it was wonderful....she had a blast. She also said some guys were annoying her and her friend a bit at one point.....so I told her if it happens again, and you're at the show....she should point in your direction...and say, "that's my dad, btw". That will get rid of them. ;)

"That will get rid of them. ;) "

Oh yeah, I'm all sorts of badass! I didn't see her until 2nd set and by that time her roommate was leaving so that must have happened earlier but yes, she certainly can count on some Reckless security! The gentlemen I saw her hanging with were very polite and attentive music fans.

earlbny, the new song is solid. I'd describe it as a little less "catchy" than usual. After a few listens, however, it has some intricacies that are intriguing...a grower if you will.

We have this show mastered now so the usual e-mail-me-if-you'd-like-a-copy rule applies. It really sounds terrific and it's a long one filling two CDs and I also must take a reverse on the Dead cover thing......they really kicked ass on that Lovelight.

Reckless.. excellent work as usual. Love reading the reviews, including the lead up and scene setting!

Great work with the recording again, set list looks great. I cant get enough of the dead covers still too, so good to see them in there... despite possible replacement of strikes etc.

Sounds like we need to all chip in and get you a digital recorder with lots of space and a soundboard jack :)

Re the recordings, If you dont mind sending them International I am happy to prepare them and get them up on Archive. Will send you an email.
