Anybody want to tell me how the show was last night? I keed, I keed. The band was on fire again, even though they must be worn out. They started out slow but couldn't help themselves from rocking out. Taped with taperjeff and tapernate. Great show and energy.
There was a Russian Imperial Stout fest at bar three doors down. Glad the taperssection went back to the hotel and didn't attend the after-after party. Great times with great people.
The recording sounds great until the table just in front of our mics decides it's talky time. They left early, but are all over the middle of this set.

I may have missed one, I was in and out of my office a bit this morning as it was playing.
folks dancing this time? Last time I was to this "listening room" it turned into a full on dance floor. i could see my mics bouncing up and down and there was no one even close to the table. Can only imagine what the poor diners downstairs under the show thought lol.
There were a few crazy cats from NC up front, but for the most part people were seated. I wish the folks at the tables just in front of the "section" would have gotten up and danced. Shut your lips and shake your hips, people.
Including Tin Angel, I've seen Yarn in five listening rooms. The shows were great but definitely a different vibe than a club show. At The Evening Muse in March '11, chairs were cast aside and dancing ensued. At Ashland Coffee & Tea in December '10, the crowd was subdued. At the acoustic house show in Greensboro last year, the crowd was seated but enthusiastic. At Landhaven B&B in October '10, the crowd was seated and pretty laid back with exception of one dancer.
Thanks for the review and setlist, hopped - looks like a good mix of old and new songs. I used a couple songs from your Ashland C&T recording for that disc I made my friend back in December, but for live action I'm partial to the club shows! :) Thanks for taping, gang - looking forward to it; chatty Cathys and all!
The Tin Angel is the fourth listening room: Ashland C&T, Tin Angel, the NightCat, and the Landhaven. It was nice to get back to this environment after the rowdy west virginia shows. There were about 50 people there I believe. the table in front of us began chatting loudly and I asked them if could quiet down please, firmly and politely. It's my librarian training. They made some jokes about not getting too loud and left. Wasn't my intention, but at least they are not all over the tape. didn't attend the after-after party after two nights of short sleep and driving from DC. I really like this recording and show. It starts out slow like hopped said and the energy builds. Hope you like it as well:
