Ok everybody. The boys are on their way back to NYC The new album has been released.
We all know the songs and have listened to it. We need to start requesting songs at radio stations, email CMT and satellite radio, whatever it takes. Also need to get on iTunes and all the other places that sell their album and write some positive reviews. They've done the work, lets show our support. Then we can get on here and reminisce about the "good ol' days" when we used to see them in uncrowded bars.
They always deliver... now it's our turn.

Great thread Stoney. ITA 110%. The only station in NYC that would play Yarn is http://www.wfuv.org They have the bands previous albums but have yet to play them. The only time FUV played them is once on the Sunday Breakfast.

    Thanks Earlbny...
remember the squeaky wheel gets the grease.... Let's all list radio stations that might play them, hit the social media with link to download album, and make our requests... I sent out 5 requests this morning. Took me only a few minutes. If you aren't on facebook, get an account, "like" all the radio shows that would play them, and start sending requests. I put the link on Outlaw Country. If you guys go there and "like" my comment maybe it'll get some attention if we all do it.

We have had Yarn play in the studio of our local NPR/Music station 2x in the past 6 months. It has really worked,
getting requests and turning on the DJ's. Search "Yarn" here:
    http://www.wutc.org/search_playlists

Trying our best to grow a fanbase here in the Chattanooga area.

BTW, hit the cd release in Nashville last night....hell, I was late missed first 45 minutes, still enjoyed once again
what I did get to see. I'm not complaining of my 2 hours sleep as I heard from a few of the guys, "This tour leg
is whipping my(our) ass." The guys are ready to get home....hope y'all have a hellava party up there in NYC.

    IKO

I just found this cool article at Yahoo.com It's not about Yarn but it's about real music. Props to Kiss and Motley Crue for slamming Rihanna for lip syncing. While I am not a fan of Kiss or Crue I still give them props. We should give Yarn a plug in the comments section and let people know real music still exists.

Maybe you need a little dixie with your KISS, earlbny! ;)

But in keeping with the theme of the thread, I think there's definitely something to be said about a concerted effort, Stoney! What about NPR's "All Things Considered"? Or Austin City Limits? Maybe we could inundate them with requests...??? Also, I've been trying to post in the comments section for the online articles, so we could also flood CMT online after the "Concrete Country" segment airs.... (which is so awesome, btw!)

    I'm with you Amy...
I'm with you. Saw you hit my Outlaw country with a like... awesome...
This ball of Yarn is rolling... let's keep it going.
Any station you know that would play Yarn should be hit with the Direct Airplay link... then we can all hit them with requests... post 'em here when you do it and we can coordinate our efforts. Don't rule out the "pop" "country" stations... we've got a couple of songs that could make it on them as well...

I can picture Blake doing a duet with Taylor Swift. lol

Good ideas everyone. Lets Yarn bomb the web. Hit up fan message boards and Blogs and anything else that comes our way. Here are a few things I mentioned in another thread.

Looks like the Panic fans like Yarn. Feel free to chime in like I did at the following link. http://phantasytour.com/bands/2/topics/3028800/posts

A while ago a friend of mind introduced me to this blog. I was told this guy is a big player in the blog world. Adam Duritz of the Counting Crows get his musical picks from this guy. Well anyway I wrote to Ryan from Ryan's Smashing Life Blog. http://www.rslblog.com and told him all about Yarn in hopes that he makes a blog post about them. Iv'e not heard back from him yet. However he did favorite my twitter post promoting Yarn's SXSW showcase.

On it! And I like's Dawg's idea of getting local DJs onboard - the DJ at UTC was really enthusiastic; very cool! I'm also curious what approach the PR/management folks take/would recommend. I wonder if Shane or Amanda might have any thoughts...

I forgot to mention that my friend Lynn is a radio DJ at a college in NJ. She host a show called carnival of Song. She Plays Yarn and even had Blake on her show.

I also did a search on FUV's website and found this bit of cool old news.

    http://www.wfuv.org/blog/070608/prine-time

Yesterday I got a message on FB from Matthew Ryan (He's a alternative country singer-songwriter) (Not the football player. Anyway he said the following. Why can't people ever play really good music really loud at astop light? I answered his question by giving Yarn a plug.

If there's a chat/message board with the stream next Friday night (3/30/12), that would be a good opportunity to help spread the word. Last stream, some of us were on there and directed a few people to the live archive, band website, etc...

    Great Idea Amy.
Dawg... sounds like your covering your area really well. Earlbny... love the Panic stuff... so awesome that they are taking notice.. you put up great stuff too. Your friend did a great interview.
The positive reviews are coming in. Let's share them. We also need to do some reviewing where people will go to download the album. iTunes, Amazon.
    ----
I bet the boys in the band sometimes get on here and get a big smile on their faces when they read these posts.
The Hiro was a little bittersweet for me. I am so used to seeing them without a crowd, but the reason why I got on this site in the first place was cause I was so bummed that a band of their caliber was playing their hearts out to a semi-empty room. I am so glad those days are changing, and that we can do our small part to help, but the band is the one who is changing it, one show, one fan, one song at a time. Hope this new album gets the attention that it deserves, and that all the others should have, and then the band holds the attention for many years to come.
  4.
Amen, Sister Stoney! If anyone deserves it, these guys do! And experiencing the momentum of a rising band, isn't that all part of it too? I really admire them for following their hearts and dreams and having the grit to do the hard work. I mean, how many "Thursday nights on the road in Iowa" (metaphorcally speaking ;) have these guys had and just kept hitting it?

I don't know if Amazon/ITunes will let you post a review if you didn't buy the album on their site, so that may take effort finding folks since I bet most of us pre-ordered through Blake... Maybe a FB post with that suggestion may rally a few people... ???

I think there's two new reviews posted on FB so there's a couple opportunities to fill up the comments with some good stuff!

Yes Amy, I couldn't figure out how to post a review on iTunes, but Amazon has a "like" button that I was able to hit. Let's all do that at the very least. Also iTunes Ping... is it on Last FM, Pandora yet? haven't checked. "like" it all. I told Blake he should have a Wikipedia article... said someone is working on it... hopefully so, then when DJ's interview him they can do a little homework first. As I am typing this, "Fussin' and Fighting" just came on the radio.
    Sweet.

There is also a site called Emusic that has their albums. Not sure if you have to be a "member" to rate and review but it's worth a look.

As I mentioned in another thread The Panic fans seems to dig Yarn while fans of other bands tend to make fun of Yarn. http://phantasytour.com/bands/2/topics/3028800/posts

Great ideas everyone. I will post a review on all of those sites if I can. At work I deal with teachers that don't know how to use computers. So when I have to go fix someones sound or get youtube working or something like that I also use Yarn as my test subject.
