...you lucky dogs are starting to get all the shows 'cause my fellow New Englanders have their musical heads wedged someplace. Can't blame the band for going where the water tastes like wine but it sure is a drag that I'm gonna be down to just a few shows a year from now on.
The Hungry TIger in Manchester made mention of a 2/29/12 date on a Thursday night on their facebook page but I haven't seen any confirmation on Yarn news or at the venue's website.
I'm gonna try to get to this one, but a two-hour drive on a weeknight is a real bitch... The shows in Raleigh have started to get more spaced out, so other than Greenboro in April, there's nothing on the calendar for the summer... :( I suppose things are working out well with the new management, but I liked it better when they played Raleigh every three months! :)
RC, They are back at the tiger on 3/29. Yarn tweeted it out yesterday. It should be good again for sure! Its labeled by Yarn as a record release party show.
Saw that, hopped, and the brain is going... I'd be interested in checking out the Whitewater Center - I've got a couple friends that would join me going rafting, but it'd be tricky asking them to take off work for two days. I remember the archive show from the Morganton TGIF concert last year - it sounded fun! I hope something can work out - the mommy/working part-time gig is pretty exhausting and doesn't leave much time for skipping town for a couple days. Don't have grandparents in town and now we have to plan family stuff around school breaks... With all the logistics, I might as well be flying in from Zurich! ;) Sorry for that little rant - Yarn withdrawls :) I'll be at the Greensboro show if nothing else...
Happy for our compadres up north! I wonder what the marque board will read!? ;P
Sat this one out, first dhow I've missed near home since I was introduced to the band. I am pretty sure my buddy went and is taping. Late start kept me away, no worked though hopped and brouche arrive here tomorrow night before our early morning start on Friday to the NYC and Philly shows.
It's probably better that you rest up, badlab! In addition to the shows, sounds like you're going to be on the go a lot! You guys are going to have so much fun! Can't slow down!!! :) Thanks to your bud if he's taping tonight - it's been a little while now since there's been some new vittles on archive!
And it looks like we'll be up north in August, so I'm gunnin' for the August 18th in Lakewood, NJ - yay!
Lakewood NJ? My grandma lived in Lakewood, NJ... but then again half the population of New Jersey had a grandma that lived in Lakewood, NJ!!! Maybe I'll see you at this one Amy!
That'd be great, Stoney! We'll circle back when it gets closer. Apparently my husband is in because he saw a place on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives that we need to check out! Whatever gets him there will work for me! :)
Doodee specials are always great... I am thankful for Doodee because he brought me to my first Yarn show in September of '10 and for his relentless pursuit of getting me out to see live music. He is a great guy as well.
First time hearing someone yell "Hey, shut up!" to the talkers... Nice! I mean, this is supposed to be a "listening" room, right?! I don't get bent out of shape with crowd noise, but I imagine it was pretty obnoxious in this setting. Anyway - really enjoying this show (as usual :) Thanks again, doodee!
