Eeehh...it's easy to do what he does, ain't it?

    I mean...just look at....um....well....um....

    Maybe you got a point!

    2 for 2 soon to be 5 for 5.

Really dig both of these two~

Can't wait to see what evolves - I loved watching the birth and evolution of the last round of morning songs! Today's song was great - more like what I expected when I saw the theme. Looking forward to tomorrow morning!

I loved "Second Half". Nice guitar work and lyrics.

Yesterday's "Happy Birthday"...not so much. They can't all be winners but I give him tons of credit for the idea of posting a song a day.

In a full band setting, you never know how a song evolves though.
  4.
I like how Happy Birthday progresses from the narrator calling him names to calling him his best friend. I think it's a grower.
  5.
I like the progression too, RC - structure's similar to Dark Skies, although this song becomes more endearing/bittersweet rather than a decent into total dispair... Still pretty sad, of course - it is a Yarn song, right?! ;P And you're right, tous, about not knowing how it's gonna evolve - my jaw dropped first time I heard The Dirt Road with the full band!

Ok, today's edition....can hear Andrew's mando in the background already. Really like the lyrics/sentiment, just needs a chorus with a hook. Easier said than done, I know.

I can picture some good cranked guitar play (a la Misery) at the end building to a crescendo.

    It's a keeper.

I guess from what tangled said about his fb comments, Blake wasn't real thrilled with yesterday's Sampson. Gotta agree....that one needs some work~

Wow....very good one today...that title and meaning is a bit jarring considering the rest of the song but we're not fans because we like happy songs now, are we?

    "Take Me First"

Probably the most fully-formed song this week. "Old Fool". Me likes it a lot.

    Ok...ranking them?

    1) Second Half is Better
    2) Take Me First
    3) Old Fool
    4) Young Sampson
    5) Happy Birthday
  7.
Hmmm.... I'm with ya, tous, on the Second Half is Better as No. 1, but I have to put Young Sampson as my No. 2. It's really sweet that it's a lullaby for Shane's new baby and I love the idea of imparting a few words of wisdom to a new soul - almost like a wish for his new little life :) And who doesn't love a waltz? For No. 3, I'd probably say Happy Birthday, although Old Fool might have an edge over Happy Birthday as I can already hear Andrew's mando singing along on that one...

Fun week - I wonder what's going to make it to sound check this month!
