The wheels are turning... I might actually get to this one. have a group of friends who haven't seen them yet, and would love to get together with them for this. It would be fun to meet you all too.
I think I've only met Reckless and Tangled so far... let's get Sue across the pond for this one, would love to meet her, although, I swear I have met her before... she looks so familiar (I used to tend @ a small live music bar when I was at school & she was there at the same time, so it's a possibility)
I am hoping that everyone has created multiple email accounts, ect, ect, so when this new CD hits we can hit up the radio stations all over the continental USA with requests. If that Linda Chorney can secure a grammy nomination for herself, just think of what a whole Yarmy could do!
Looks like fun! I wish there was a way for me to get up there; I would to meet all you beautiful Yarn psychos! ;) I don't think it's gonna happen for me though - can't take the kids out of school and I don't think my husband would let me travel up solo :( This would definitely be one for a live stream!
Things are looking up for me to make this one. Will be bringing all newbies if I come. What's up with the Hiro? Saw !5$ advance, with a 8$ service fee? Will this be a sell out, do I need to pay more to get them in advance? would rather spend it on buying some Yarmy members the drinks I owe them.
I have to put an estimate together for the wife to approve. Is the NC crew planning Hill Country>Hiro>Tin Angel? Crash pads or hotels? Train into city or hotel for Hiro show?
Hill Country is out. I think that was pushing it for one of us. Last time we talked about it, the idea was to park at a friend's place in NJ, train into city, hotel for the night, wake up hang out, train back to car and head to Philly. Hotel around Philly somewhere. Drive home Sunday. If you can make it that would put 5 from NC coming in. We'd have to talk about transport options. 5 in my car is tight. Maybe we can find another car to use?!?!
You folks are cool beyond description......so hope we can all have a big meet-up in the city. We're really gonna try to get down your way in late June.
Oh no - tough decision is right, RC! That blows... Maybe you could watch the dress rehersal and then catch one of the other performances??? I can't believe they didn't check to make sure opening night didn't conflict with Yarn's CD release dates! ;) Their FB page says that there's one more show TBA - maybe that'll work out better for you. Ugh - good luck sorting it all out!
Thanks guys......I hate it whenI forget to log out of admin but I suppose y'all know it's me by now. We still don't get a ton of new sign-ups here but they keep trickling in ;)
My son's music and drama are as important to me as his math grade....perhaps more. I'm pretty tough on him but just recently I complimented him on his guitar which is in stark contrast to my usual harping on him for not practicing enough. So he joked hey, I'm as good as Andrew. I said, no you're not as good as Andrew but I have every confidence that one day you will be just as good as Andrew.
....He's going to turn 14 next month and the little shit can really rip. I'm very stoked to see what happens in the next 5 years.
Just my two cents, in five years you won't remember what songs Yarn played the night you missed opening night for you son's play, but you will remember you missed his play to see Yarn. I love Yarn as much as anyone, but you only get to see your children grow up once.
This is a no-brainer... Family First You'll have plenty of other opportunities to hang out with a bunch of drunks while listening to shitty music. (Now all you have to do is figure out which I'm talking about... school play or yarn)
LOL Stony! Man - I wish I could come :( Yarn, CD release and a strong Yarmy showing ... sometimes I really hate living across the pond ... but the skiing here is great. Wonder when the Kickstarter folks will hit us with our download of the new CD ... can't wait to hear it!!!
Reckless... Since you guys are the only one’s on here that I’ve met, I guess I will have to find the 5G’s people by their common identification marks... everyone’s got the Yarn logo tattooed across their foreheads by now, right?
Years ago I made a bunch of t-shirts for a Grateful Dead website I hung out at. We all wore them for the first meet-up. Seemed like a good idea until the cool kids beat us up for our lunch money.....what a pack of fuckin' dorks we looked like!
....just ask any of the band members, they all know each of us~
I'll have to give this one another we'll-see-what-happens as we get closer. Thanks for all the unput folks. Stoney, you prolly should have hung around for the tumor surgery at least ;)
I definitely do agree that family comes first, but for me there's still that bit of angst to swallow when things don't go according to my master plan. I'm not always so good at that part! [Read: Type A, control freak] ;)
I am just waiting to pick our son's first communion date in May until after the rest of the May schedule is released. I think we should be ok because they are heading out west, but that first weekend is still open, so maybe they will swing south before heading out west.. :)
This thread almost made me fall out of my chair. Family should always come 1st. My aunt just found out that the place she was going to book my cousins Bar Mitzvah at is involved in a scandal so she needs to find another place. I told her to have it in the back yard and book Yarn to play.
Oh hey, Mrs. T! I didn't realize that you were waiting on me - sorry about that! I'm kind of a FB idiot... On it, but not... I'm really only on there to keep up with a couple close friends that moved out of town and Yarn-watch. My friend count is maybe around 10 - I guess I'm a FB loser, but at least it's by choice, I guess! And now that I know your pics are up, I think I'll go troll your page - that is, if you're not also protected by the FB secret service like I am! :)
And my vote - "wrist" down, is for "tat tous." That's perfect! Nice, hopped!
** Just back from FB - your pics are great, 'tat' ;) I love the one looking back at the crowd and the one where Andrew's playing his mandolin behind his back - what a fun night! So glad you guys made the trip and that we were able meet!!!
