Well it's a little bit early but I ain't seen the band in two months and I'm gettin edgy! I''m assuming all the usual Connecticats will be there. Still time to book a flight Sue~
I'm really working hard at pulling as many friends along as I can for this one. It's been a pretty good town for Yarn and we might be able to really jam this place.
My family and I are in with at least 5 for now, but would be able to pull along a lot more as it gets closer. many friends interested and looking at making this date happen for them. This place usually draws on a weekend for a usual drinking crowd. It s a really good venue that gets a lot of national acts. A friend of mine runs their open mic on Mondays, and he was spreading the word there about Yarn. That will help.
Awesome. I was wondering about sending them some live CDs and perhaps a DVD that they could run a few afternoons before the gig. I know that the owner is really impressed with them so I'm sure he'd back the plan. Maybe I'll shoot an e-mail to Kris (sound dude)and see what he thinks.
They are really cool there and would probably do that. I think thats a great idea. They are all about good music/bands there. Ill remind my buddy Geoff to keep pumping them up as well. He is a fan and been to a few shows back at the ol Main Pub.
Work it, guys - Yarmy strong! ;) Your shows from last year at the HT sounded great, RC - they'll go a long way to help me come off the Raleigh show next Saturday!
hmmmmm I DO have family on CT LOL ... Oh Amy I had forgotten all about the Raleigh show damn you!!! Getting back in the swing of things here in Zurich ... which means lousy music scene ... 2012 year of Yarn and the YARMY ;)
The Hungry Tiger website says all Friday night music shows start at 10pm. Cover start at 7pm. Get there before 7pm for happy hour and they wont charge you for the band if you stay all night.
Oh my.....we ;re dealing with a real winner here too....looking forward to hearing that one! Hope the rest of the week goes smooth enough until FRIDAY! So psyched for this show.
This was the third gig at the venue and for whatever reason, the place was PACKED. Cripes, I got there just a tad later than usual and there were two other tapers set up already. I managed to find a place for my mics but then the warm-up act took the stage so I had to wait to finish as the place filled up and I juggled it all with having dinner. Made a mad rush to set up between.......is this the future?! ;)
The band absolutely tore it the fuck up all night. Really fed off the packed house and the energy was great. How many times can you see this band and still be blown away? Highlights for me were Andrew's outrow on Along The Way.....KILLER That's Just Fine.....the return of Bobby Weeks....Outlaw>Phonebooth.....but really, everything was nailed. BTW, I asked Blake if I had ended up naming That's Just Fine for him and he said yup, that's pretty much it and he's cool with the name. What a monster song it's become from that version I snagged two months ago.
Recording sounds pretty damn good although our ears were ringing on the ride home so I'll pass on the rating til I can hear it properly. This show filled a three hour DAT tape right to the very end so it'll def fill three discs!

Whew!......smiles all around. great to see all you folks again~
So "Yard" rocked the Tiger, huh?! ;) Couldn't believe that when I saw Bobby's pic on FB! Obviously that mistake won't be made twice!
Great setlist! I'm looking forward to catching "Let Me In" live one day - I bet that's a fun sing-along! And RC, it sounds like you got your wish for the NE to get onboard! Glad to hear the place was packed!!!
Lol! Hardly my song and just like so many others, Blake could choose something besides what we start with. I do like the title though because a hint of sarcasm changes the meaning so much so I'm pleased that Blake approves. Here's my best stab at it while listening to this Hungry Tiger version. I usually screw something up so chime in anyone...esp DrnkenAngel~
Daddy said he was leaving though didn't believe him but he's gone alright Mama said she was dyin' though I didn't bother cryin' but she's dead alright My big bro said it's time to go but I'll blow out this town tonight So here I am my only friend with me well that's just fine.

Well this is fun afternoon diversion from work! So at the recent NC shows, it was "sad, tired and lazy" but at your HT show it was "sad, tired, and crazy". I'll take either... :)
Glad you got a crib sheet now, tous - I can only imagine what you might have been singing!
Just listening to the Asheville show and the only difference I hear is " so here I am alone again". And lazy for crazy, but I bet they change from night to night.
Yup, each version is a tad different. I was just driving myself CRAZY. I listened to it on itunes again and again this evening trying to find the my old lady verse......cripes, I just transcribed it this afternoon and it was there then, WTF happened?! Then I realized that I had 12/8/11 Bridgeport cued up! It was very early in the song's history then so that verse wasn't in it.
The super long jams that made up the second set were soooooo Allman Brothers inspired. Heavy, spacey, LOUD, and long. the people we were with all kept joking that they were the Yarn-man brothers Band all night. After the show we were chatting with Andrew and I mentioned that they played more like the Allmans than I had ever heard them before. I said while songs went in that direction for moments during past shows, this show seemed to be dominated by an Allmans-esque vibe. He then talked about how they were in Macon the week before visiting the Allmans graves and were clearly inspired by it and on an Allmans kick. It was clear as day to me listening that night and on the tapes. An interesting shift for them. While not out of the blue completely, this show was much different in the length of jams of so many songs and the fierce nature of the jams. Just amazing. Every show so different but so good. Always an adventure with these guys and I loved every second.
This one really was a smoker. Shit, any set with Don't Break, Abilene and MOO screams jam! I was blown away by how huge That's Just Fine has become....def my favorite jam of the night~
