Can someone do me a favor and post a copy of Yarn’s BIO. I am looking to cut and past it on every message board I come across so I can help spread the word. I can’t seem to find a good copy. Maybe I am not looking in the right places.

    Here you go:

Yarn owes as much to Gram Parsons and Earl Scruggs as to Jerry Garcia and Exile On Main Street-era Rolling Stones. Following in a fine tradition that includes forward thinking roots bands like The Flying Burrito Brothers, New Riders of The Purple Sage and Ryan Adams & The Cardinals, Yarn weaves roots musical idioms into a fresh, exciting sound that turns on hipsters and country fans alike. Edie Brickell, anticipating a performance with Yarn, summed it up: "I'm excited to get to sing with this band. they have a lot of heart and soul." Yarn gotten a bit of buzz and excited international press about their last release, Empty Pockets, which has been in the national AMA charts since October 2008 (reaching #5) and made the Ballot for the 2009 Grammy Awards in several categories.

......regarding this Bio, it's funny that I saw the New Riders last week and I have to say that I'm not so sure they're a close fit. I know the band's opening for them and that's fantastic because I do believe they share a similar fanbase and they'll def make some converts, however, the forward thinking part misses imo. Yarn is indeed forward thinking and the New Riders tried to sell that concept at the concert as they advertised their new album, but their show was as all-the-same as any band you can find. About halfway through the evening, the required straining to make out anything they were singing got tiresome. Falzerano in particular could have been singing the buckwheat catalog. Additionaly, they just HAD to play Panama Red as they do at every show along with the handfull of radioplay songs in their catalog. David Nelson is a God damned national treasure and a joy to be in the same room with so I do like the Riders and I enjoyed the show, but I don't believe they could put together much of a tour based solely upon new material. I did sit in row 1 right in front of Buddy Cage...what an amazing fucking machine a pedal steel is!

I believe that if Yarn is still trucking along for as many years as them, they will have such a large catalog that there will be no particular song that they need to perform. In that regard, they are distanced from the New Riders. Ryan Adams is a more fitting comparison in this regard. Again, just rambling over coffee and not looking to dis anyone. I think this new Yarn album is going to be very strong.

.....when I got home from the New Riders, I had to toss on my Lake George DVD ;)
