So I faded a bit right at the end. I think the only song I missed in its entirety was I Wanted To Get High. Luckily someone was taping so I get to hear it all.

tous, the beer selection at the Double Door sucks but they do have one which is drinkable for me, hence the nap. That and I went out for music the previous four nights, getting home after 1 a.m. Thursday and Friday. I stayed sober last night as I had a 45 minute solo drive and got home about 12:30. I was the only audio taper there so it's a good thing I went.

I could have passed out on broken glass and nails Saturday night, I was so tired. My wife said she had a good time and was glad she went. She enjoyed meeting everyone, even if she thinks we're all a bit Yarn-crazy.

Amy, I apologize for the greeting. I know you are not Tracy. I just get confused sometimes.

No worries, hopped - I didn't give it a second thought! But I can't believe how many hours you logged this past week - you must be exhausted! Glad to hear your wife had fun; she should meet my husband - they can commiserate!

I missed a bit too - stepped outside at the end of I Wanted to Get High and wound up missing the last song. I didn't realize how late it had gotten (Cinderella at the Yarn Ball :) so I'm also glad that *someone* was taping!

"There HAD to have been something that wasn't just awesome that night?"

I agree with hopped about the beer selection... I had planned ahead and brought in a flask of Crown Royal, so I just ordered cokes all night and spent $0 on alcohol, so in the end that was Awesome. Sorry Tous.

Having a driver that made you stay awake with her and drove 10 miles under the speed limit all the way home, that sucked.

well - my feet kinda hurt from all the dancing :( but I had the added thrill of turning a friend onto Yarn ;) Damn that Dead cover band was good. I got a total of 3 hours of sleep before I headed off to the airport to catch my flights home to Zurich so THAT sucked!!!

I spoke with one of the guitar players from the opening band they are in the process of being added to archive, so that set will be up at some point.

And Sue is right, they were very, very good. So that's one more thing that didn't suck, tous.

I think the Blake solo acoustic house show and three day run culminating on NYE has potential for copious amounts of suckiosity. We'll just have to wait and see.

It's upping to archive now. This is just a taste to get you hooked.

Actually, it's "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)". That's what I get for doing things from memory. I'll get it changed when I can.

Regardless of title, it's a fitting sentiment given that I got back to the hotel to watch the gate being closed behind the last convoy leaving Iraq. Of course it's far from really being over, but I'm so thankful that our troops are coming home.

And speaking of song titles, you're right about the newest song, RC - there's at least two or three great lines vying for that song title!

"And speaking of song titles, you're right about the newest song, RC - there's at least two or three great lines vying for that song title!"

Yup, Hard So Hard; Ain't Comin' Back: Gone Alright......etc. I just like the overall feeling that everything's all fucked up but That's Just Fine. If Blake ends up calling it something else then whatever....we've changed titles before around here.

Haven't gotten a chance to sample the Ball but I will soon. Thanks Hopped~

"I tried to capture the spirit of the thing."

isn't this the line from the movie slapshot?

I just burned the disc for my long commute home. Can't wait to hear the new songs. I think I am more excited for New Year's show than Christmas.

It is indeed from Slapshot. Dickie Dunn, a sportswriter played by M. Emmet Walsh utters this line several times.
  6.
Yeah, it's a great song no matter what it ends up being called! :)

Planning on getting into this show this afternoon - been listening to the Nebraska show the last couple days... Thanks again, hopped!!!

RC, can you play flac files? This set is 24/48 and won't burn to CD without dithering/downsampling. I can send you a data DVD or a thumb drive with the 24 bit flac files, or maybe work something else out since you can't grab it electronically.

I really want to stick to 24 bit uploads. Most everybody is probably just gonna grab the mp3s anyway.
  10.
Ha, really don't know what the flac you're on about ;)

I use CDs and my Ipod for most playback these days. I can also stream from archive into my system at work. Very kind of you to offer.

thanks hopped for spreading the music, listening to the show as I work here at school with no students today. Christopher Street is simply amazing...

When they are doing the crescendo in Christopher Street and then get to the "I just want let it go..." is one of my favorite parts of any live show ever.

RC, if you make mp3s for your itunes, I could make some 320k mp3s from the 24 bit source and send several shows on a data DVD. Or a thumb drive if you want.
  11.
Oh man, that would be awesome hopped!
  12.
.....and 5/20/11 is the sickest Christopher Street I've heard.

Reckless I second that. Andrew just goes off, definitely my favorite one of all time... second place is the one played on my deck last summer, pretty good acoustic version of it.

Did we mention Blake sat in with the Dead cover band on "Cumberland Blues"?
