ummmm............yeah. Kinda speechless on this one. A "Personal show for ya" as Blake said to RC, myself, and my girl. About 5-10 others made it in for some point of the show. But no matter that Bridgeport didn't draw as far as the show was concerned.

I didn't write the setlist for the first time in a long time, but Blake opened up acoustic solo for a tune. We got Dirt Road, Summer Ends, Unnamed new one, Strikes and Gutters (thanks, Blake!), Pale Blue Eyes, Everybody's Talkin', Abeline, Tennessee, 5 guitars, Sugaree (Trevor on Lead), Yurn the Light on (or "My CC Rider ripoff" as Blake said), and more!

Two hours of great great great great great music. Can't wait to hear RC's recording. Sound fantastic until later in the show when an audible buzz kept popping in. But there won't be crowd chatter because Bridgeport can't draw.

So while disappointed for the band not to draw and play to empty house, sooooo happy to be there. As you know, they play full energy, full passion no matter what. Simply a perfect evening and a top Yarn experience for me. Damn this band can play!

thinking I'm going to WV for New years. Hoe can you not? Then February back in CT! Happy holidays y'all....(and thanks to Mrs. RC for letting her man make the trip. Although I think it may have cost him his hair. Ask him.....

Thanks for the review. Some of the best Yarn shows are played to an empty house. My next Yarn show is the post Phish show.
  1.
Wish I had time for more of a review but I'm leaving for my annual steelhead fishing trip today so I just got time to argue with nothing that jgoods said. Absolutely TOP Yarn experience for me. Add that I had a choice of Yarn Bridgeport or Ryan Adams Boston and I made the right choice. Esp after reading online of the pissy time Ryan had with an obnoxious crowd while he played the EXACT (save for one) setlist he played Tuesday at Carnegie.

Angel Place That Halo - new song - solo Blake
    5 Guitars
    Dirt Road
    Tennessee
    Down On Your Luck
    When The Summer Ends
    Everybody's Talkin'
    Turn The Light Off
    Abilene
That's Just Fine - new song
    Maybe You're Mine
    Sugaree
    Strikes & Gutters
    Madeline
    Ain't That A Sin
    Pale Blue Eyes
    My Wasted Life

Two new ones and Blake says he's got a number of songs he's just written. jgoods, it was the second new song that Blake called his CC Rider rip off however, the similarity is far more subtle than a rip off I'm sure you'll agree. For me, it's just another of those Yarn songs that you hear just once and are immediately endeared to. I LOVE it. I asked Blake for a title and he said call it something so if I may be so bold after 3 listens through, I've named it That's Just Fine but there are so many cool lyrical jaunts throughout that it could be called several fitting titles.

    Daddy said he was leaving
    I didn't believe him
    but he's gone alright

    Mama said she was dying
    I didn't bother crying
    but she's dead alright

.....I'll transcribe the whole thing when I can but it's beautiful and heart wrenching and the soloing soars. The solo opening song is wonderful as well. The recording came out A+ aside from that fucking annoying buzz that indeed crept in and out. The Sugaree and the Ain't That A Sin are the best versions of those songs that I've heard. It'll be early next week before I can get it mastered and mailed but it's another smoker!

Wait for it.........The best God Damned band in the land!

    Missed ya touskys~

Great job Reckless. Great review. Those 2 new songs sound awesome. Now you all have to come to Sullivan Hall because you guys and girls bring the Yarn magic. Don't get me wrong my shows are fun but you got 2 new songs. I can't wait to hear this show. Right Now Ill take Blake and co over Ryan.

They are both wonderful and as I said, Blake reports that he's written a whole bunch of new stuff! I'll take him over Ryan these days too. I think my impatience with Ryan's bullshit has hit a peak as well.

Will def consider Sullivan Hall and I should be able to mail this one out to tous tomorrow. It's another really good sounding show~

I am still waiting for a bad Yarn song. If I had the money I would go to kick starter ask Blake to write me a bad song. I love Ryan but as of late he's lost some of his old school charm. I got my friend Sarah to come to Sullivan Hall. It will be her 1st Yarn show. Even for a late night show on a Wednesday it should be a pretty packed house. Sullivan Hall fills up. some come for the music and others come to drink. I just need a Yarn fix.

......finally, dropped this into the usps to tous.

I also have a new favorite song. The new one I call That's Just Fine is just stunning all around. Blake calls it a Know You Rider rip off but I seriously have to listen for the similarity. Certainly the vocal cadence isn't even close to IKYR.

    Thanks tous.

Funny, Blake asks jgoods what he wants to hear and jgoods asks for Strikes & Gutters. Then at the end of that he makes the mistake of asking me. if you listen at the end of Strikes & Gutters you can hear me and Blake bantering:

"John, what do you want to hear?"

"Don't fuck with me Christiana, you know that!"

    "Oh fuck you."

You See The Sun....Turn Your Light On....I Love the Way"

"Oh yeah you fucker, good point."

    "Desperate Amy....Desparate Amy."

    .......Madeline starts

"Yeah, we'll do that. Fuck your Desperate Amy and fuck all those other requests, how 'bout that?!"

"How about you learn better than to mess with me!"

"I know I should know better I should I should..."

    Lol!

Enjoy folks, I've played this one a ton. That's Just Fine is another premium song~
  5.
    "how 'bout that?!" Ha!

Another top notch pull, RC! Thank ya.
  6.
Just diggin' in - sounds really great, RC! But my poor namesake gets kicked around, eh? ;)

I've been watching for this one to show up - thanks, guys!

    Yo tous,

This one has the AT822 mic listed again. I don't even remember when I used that mic for Yarn.....maybe the Deep River thing with Blake and Andrew? Pretty much all of my recordings are the 4071 guns into that beyer pre-amp.
