Well thanks to a little surprise birthday present we were able to attend the French River Fall Festival today and enjoy the Yarn Set. A Great setting along the French Broad, with some great beer vendors for the Beer Tasting. Finally got my lips on some Shiva hopped. Great time, the boys were in great spirits and the festival came alive as they took the stage as the sun set over the mountains. Saw Rod and Blake getting their hair trimmed up at one of the booths before they took the stage, that was pretty funny.
Tennessee Almost Home NYC Found Can't Slow Down Music's Only Outlaw>For What it's Worth>Outlaw Abilene Down on Your Luck It's All Over Now When Summer Ends... very nice. Bad Bad Man> Salt Creek>Woman on the Interstate Encore: Turn the Light On....
...this was the second time they had played it... It is very good and features Bobby. I asked them about the song afterwards and they said that Blake wrote the song based on a Bobby Drum solo... very fun song, can't wait to hear it again. I am very thankful for my surprise birthday present, turning 38 on Monday and couldn't think of a better way to spend my day. The wife also had a blast. I attended my first Yarn show a year ago today (9/25/2010). So it was an anniversary show as well. God Bless Yarn.
Happy birthday, badlab!!! Nice birthday present, indeed! Thanks for the recap - I've enjoyed listening to the last French Broad festival show from back in April so I'm sure this one was awesome! And it's my "fan-iversary" too! ;-) My first show was 9/24 at the Pour House in Raleigh. I was meeting up with a friend who had another friend that was a fan... that was all it took!
Just saw this on archive. Haven't listened to it yet, but it sounded good when I was there, and being a SBD it should be pretty good. The Jamaica story is pretty funny.
What a killer new song. If I was not at work sitting at my desk I would have been on my feet dancing my butt off. It was so hard to hold back and not dance. That song gave me visions of a sold out stadium show with a sea of Yarmy members grooving. Jerry was smiling down with this song. He was jamming along in heaven. Like always Blake and co cant write/play a bad song and this one tops the last new song. I need a sugar momma.
