Great show tonight. Fantastic room. Lots of new Yarn fans in Martinsville tonight. We are listening to the show now and it sounds great.
We got a new song FTP, Pale Blue Eyes, Final Bow, the loudest Annie and Christopher Street I've heard (and I loved it). Seemed like lots of people were buying all three CDs. There were really nice people running the place. They said I was their first taper and would love to have more. I'll be back for sure.
What would surprise people is that the PA in this place is two 12" speakers with horns on tripods. I looked all over and didn't see any subs or other speakers except the on-stage monitors. I think it sounds good, but a little thin to me, especially the vocals. The crowd was definitely respectful.
I was expecting about 5 people to be there. Martinsville is pretty dead when NASCAR is not in town. But I think this is what actually brought out the 60 or so folks who were there. There's just not much to do in Martinsville on a Friday night. Judging from merch sales, all those folks will be back and hopefully bring some friends with them next time.
