Hello all! Getting pumped for the show Saturday. Hope to see as many of you as possible there! Great venue, great show last time.
FYI: you need to reserve a table if you want to sit and eat before/during show.
Reckless and Tous and Mrs. Tous, I have a table reserved for 8:00 and included you guys. RC, let me know if your mrs. will be joining us. Its the table we were at last time as I think that is prime taping spot for you RC. She couldn't guarantee it 100% per policy, but said it shouldn't be a problem. I'll be there by 8. Let me know if you are getting there earlier and we'll work it out.
We may look to get there on the early side. Kind of wanna see what happens with the Steelers Raven's game. I'll be in touch as the weekend approaches jgoods. All I really need is that fireplace!
Tous is 100% correct. I was downtown yesterday putting up a few fliers for the show, and it is a mess. However, they are spending all day clearing it into dump trucks. There are CT Whaler hockey games and UCONN basketball events this weekend, plus a convention in town. While Hartford doesn't get it right many, many times, they seem to be on this and recognize they have to help people who come downtown to spend money.
The lot directly across the street from the venue is your best bet. Mostly cleared, and big anyway so you should get a spot. $7 if no Civic Center event, $10 if there is an event.
RC, Tous, some of my party cancelled for reasons I cannot comprehend! Sick kid, blah, blah, blah...I kept the table anyway assuming you guys and any other you know might want a seat spot. Cool?
I'll be there about 8. They won't seat at the table until then. Its under my name, so tell them when you arrive at 7 and at least make it known we want that specific table. She said she put it down on my request, but couldn't guarantee, so if you reinforce that when you arrive, that would help.
Well first off, we sure hope all's ok with jgoods. We missed you brother....hopefully it was nothing too distresssing~ Sure was terrific of you to snag that table for us.
Had the same opening band as last time....Heirlooms. They weren't too bad previously but this go round, things were a little harsh. Nuff said but we were all ready for Yarn by the time they took stage. Brought along a couple of friends who first saw Yarn back at my birthday show. tangled got caught up in some family health issues and had to cancel :(
Very well played set although a short one by current Yarn standards, the sound was very good as is the recording. Wrote a set list:
Desperate Amy Empty Pockets Can't Slow Down On The Road......was thinkin' of ya jgoods! Christopher St More Roadhouse Alone On The Weekend NYC Found One More Saturday Night Bad Bad Man Irish Jam>Woman On The Interstate Down On Your Luck Don't Break My Heart Again Liquor Love Thrill Is Gone....with Shane Spaulding It's All Over Now
Short, sweet, riiiipin' and I'll get it mastered as soon as I can. Certainly can't run into the SMACKDOWN of the Patriots tomorrow afternoon!
Rod's pretty much never loud enough but he's there pretty well. Very slight balance to the right but great separation with Andrew and Jay left, Rob/Rick center and Blake/Rod to the right so not too bad.
Fuckin' Jets. They proved me wr wro wron wrong...it's hard for me to type that! I'm just fortunate that Shane's such an upstanding dude, he won't even think of busting my chops when I see him again.
Thank you SO MUCH RC....I came home from a crappy day at work and it felt like Christmas when I checked my mail box! Thank you so much for the recordings....I'm not that up to speed downloading and uploading and recording.
