At a Sex Addicts Anonymous meeting, the group leader always liked to start the meetings by asking how often the attendees had sex.

"How many of you have sex more than 3 times a day?" A few hands went up.
"How many of you have sex at least once a day?" Many more hands shot up.
"How any of you have sex at least 4 times a week?" Several more hands.

This continued until there was only one guy in the room who had not raised his hand.

"How many of you have sex once a month?" Nothing.
"How many of you have sex once every six months?" The man sat motionless.
"How many of you have sex once a year?" The man jumped out of his seat and began waving his arm wildly.

"Sir, if you are a sex addict and you only have sex once a year, why are you so excited?"

The man proudly exclaimed, "'Cause tonight's the night, man. Tonight's the night!"

The above doesn't really apply to me I guess, since I've seen Yarn 13 times in the last year. This weekend will be the third back-to-back run in less than 3 months as well. I'm still pretty excited.

I'm gonna take the laptop and hopefully get at least one of these shows processed before the weekend's over.

    Love your work!

Got two mic sources on this one. One MOTB-style and one further out in the room. Both sound really good and could possibly be the best audience recordings I've done, if not for the following night in Charlottesville.

Gonna be posting some smokers this week, folks. Christmas Song went into Rod riffing on Silent Night. Another stellar Stella Blue, et al.

Listening to the recording from right up front now. The vocals need a little punch, but the recording is clear as a bell. They don't allow SBD patching, so I may be able to use the other source for that. Charlottesville sound guy didn't allow patching either but that recording turned out pretty well, so no need to mix anyway.

Ashland Coffee and Tea is a listening room and that's what people do for the most part. Nobody was dancing and there was no crowd in front of the stage. Didn't seem to affect the energy of the band too much, which is good.

So I've spent some time goofing around with my first Youtube upload:

    Liquor Love 2010-12-03

I'll get back to the audio now. I just taped one song and a couple of other brief clips with the new camera.

The AT-u853 source is up. This one is from our table about 15' from stage.

I do not individually normalize/amplify tracks, so there will be some spots where the volume is low. This is as we heard it and the dynamics of the recording are intact.

The CA-14 source from the front table is upping now and should be live in the morning.

Thanks hoppedup. Great work as always. I am starting to sound like a broken record but every new Yarn song is just killer. I don’t even celebrate Christmas and I am in love with this song. When is Yarn going to officially make it? They have everything it takes and then some. I have a man crush on this band. lol

    taperjeff's source is up:

    http://www.archive.org/details/Yarn2010-12-03.akg461

I think this is the one to grab. I ran my CA-14s on Jeff's stand. He was running a wider pattern that worked really well here. Crystal clear. It is 24-bit so if you still burn to CDs, you may want to wait and see if Jeff posts a 16-bit version.

ETA: i just listened to both side by side. They're both good. Down 'em all!
