From Blake: "We put together a very low budget video for our song Schenectady. It was all filmed in Schenectady, NY. A very big thanks goes out to the good patrons and staff of The Manhattan Exchange for letting us take over their bar for a couple hours."
Beautiful song about what looks to be one grimy, drinkin' city.
"....wrote it just after officer Jeffrey Curtis was arrested for stealing crack from the department’s evidence locker and smoking it."
Ha ha, may I assume Jeff beat his wife too?!
I think it's real easy to take songs like this the wrong way. You can grow up in a great town but at age 16, you still want out of it. Schenectady's no Hollywood but it ain't exactly the projects either. Again, this one reminds me of Ryan Adam's Tennessee Sucks and I love that tune too.
My wife's uncle is a cop. I'd watch him swill back a 6 pack after our golf league and drive away drunk. I'm assuming of course, that he hands out DUIs to others on the weekend.
