    Main pub
    Manchester, CT

    10:00 start.
    1:42 end.
    One set, no break.
    Full band.

Place packed for returning veterans welcome home party. Many stayed well into the night, but on this evening, the band lasted longer than most of the patrons! The band had family and friends in town, good showing of Yarn diehards who rode out the whole long, satisfying, exhilarating, beautiful night of music. Its always something special and unique at this venue (acoustic 12/11 for example). May be the perfect show. The band somehow keeps playing better, Blake can't write a bad song, and their new covers are fresh and have Yarn's stamp all over them. Wow.

Thanks for keeping track, jgoods. You didn't look like you enjoyed the set...much!

Desparate Allie is actually Desparate Amy but you're right, just another great song.

They have played I Know You Rider at least one other time as there's a live version posted on their myspace site.

Wow! I am so sad I missed out. Yarn = The Best Band. They can do it all. Now I am even more excited about that Christmas Jam show. I have heard them do I Know You Rider when I saw them at Hill Country in NYC. That was back when the 1st album came out and they played every Wednesday.

I Know You Rider was also performed in Newton on 10/30/10. Andrew gave me the discs to upload. They're two giant tracks so a quick lesson in editing on Audacity and I'll post them at some point this week.

    tous,

Are they data CDs or audio CDs? If they are wav files, and the levels are good, you can use a program called CDwave to split them into tracks. It is simple to use and has a nice GUI. It will export as FLAC too, but I always just export as WAV and convert with TLH later.

    CDwave

If the files are .cda, or CD audio files, they are 16bit/44.1 khz and may or may not suffer from amplification or normalization in an editor. Audacity is a little trickier than some of the high-dollar programs, but still fairly simple. I usually just normalize and export at 16/44.1 if I plan to burn CDs. If it is a show with really loud applause (like, louder than the music) I may run some compression to get rid of the peaks of the applause before normalizing. That usually only happens with singer-songwriter type shows. Some people don't even do that, but I could give two shits about the dynamics of the audience clapping. You can split tracks in Audacity, but it is much simpler with CDwave after you've exported from Audacity.

If you need any specific help with Audacity, shoot me an email at sneakrouteATgmail.com

    Thanks...they're .cda.

I imported in iTunes (yeah, yeah, I know it sucks) to .wav.

I didn't ask the source, but it sure sound like Aud.

Andrew was looking into getting a small rig recently. I have seen Trevor put a small recorder out (Olympus LS-10?) and use the internal mics at a couple of shows, so it could be that if Trevor was there.

Blake asked us a while ago about mastering a bunch of stuff that he has. I know that I don't have the means and it sounds like hopped is straight out with stuff already. We could ask him again if there's interest. Personally, I'm not far enough along with Yarn yet to be yearning for "old stuff." Cripes, if ever the term these are the good old days applied, it pretty much does to this current run with Yarn.

I could set up to help out. Hopped right down the road to teach. I used to do some audio and television editing so it might be a small learning curve. Just a thought

Package received, RC. Thanks! I'll try to get Catawba and Raleigh in the mail by Monday. Hopefully I can watch a couple of these DVDs before the weekend is out.
