Good to see the band again after, what, a month with no Yarn? As good as ever, despite no Andrew.
Black-Eyed Sally's is, as jgoods said, primarily a blues club so this was a tough draw from the start. We got there late (No Future Together) and the approximately 25 people in attendance were doing their best in the sing-along but no match for the Main Pub!
Regardless, Rod really brought it to this gig and seemed to really like the sound of the room. Bobby Bonhomme also put in a stellar gig and is fitting in really nicely. Different sound, more rock-oriented and he's melding nicely. Good addition.
Misery killed. Just flat-out killed. Ben Golder-Novick jumped onstage for this one and stayed for the rest of the set. Just one great sax player, IMO. They need to sell more CD's and pack people in at gigs so they can bring him on tour with them! http://www.benthesaxguy.com/
Finally...Graceland? Just awesome. The hard-cores that paid and stayed enjoyed the hell out of this show.
Good to see jgoods again. Thanks for keeping track of the setlist.
Oh man am I sorry I missed taping this one for you guys. Tried to rally for the next night but ended up sleeping another 10hrs. Fuck this thing kicked my ass. So glad y'all had a good one though.
ok, photos (and video) uploaded. http://picasaweb.google.com/BobTous (There are other family photos up there so mind your business! :-) )
Video of 'Misery' is #17 # 26 is what the band does while Mr. Bonhomme works his ass off on the drum solo # 29 is an appreciative Mr. Hohl during the solo # 40 is Blake on drugs apparently
Yes reckless I have tickets for Cafe Lena. I am bringing the family to see the guys. My daughter is a Yarn head, she has seen them a few time in Harrisonburg. She put up some posters for them before thier last show too. My sixteen year old son actually has Yarn on his ipod. We are working on converting Mrs Buckheart. See you there man!
