Does anyone know about parking at this event? They suggest the train....but there isn't a connection from Western, MA.....not sure where to pick up the train in CT or NY.
Can I bring a dog on a leash? Can't find anything about Beacon dog laws. I know some parks don't allow dogs at all - leash or not in NY. Anyone know? Also, what about alcohol/cooler policy. Can't find anything.
Just got email from promoter. Dogs okay, but ours is backing out. 16 yr old lab, moves a little slow, so he won't be making it. from promoter: :booze okay, just keep it discreet..." Getting in the car.....
Well, a very fun show. Good to see Reckless (um...Tangled????) and jgoods and friend. A bit shorter set than I'd like, but what are you gonna do? Three headliners and all three got to play full sets under a constant threat of rain. Yarn kicked it (2 fer Tous!) with a primo version of 'Helpless' with Tracy Bonham adding some tasty fiddle.
Tracy was ok, some experimental stuff and an average band backing her.
The Fleshtones were great, great fun!! Big, dumb, loud rock and roll. A potent musical cocktail of Ramones, NRBQ, and The Fools (for New Englanders). Too bad for you guys that left early, they were pretty awesome.
Reckless or jgoods will have the full Yarn setlist, i'm sure.
...and if any of the band reads this, those amps gave all 3 bands problems. Nice job soldiering through it!
Woman On The Interstate More On the Road Alone On The Weekend NYC Found Helpless Music's Only Outlaw Down On Your Luck Cat & Mouse
Yes, a fun set indeed. It was a fun bike trip at 180 miles. Although I would have liked to hang around, the threat of storms chased me off. I was able to make it home dry but rode through some wet areas where I had just missed the rains.
As I approached the stage area just off the big open river, I was worried about the howling winds that were picking up....not good for taping as even foam windscreens can't silence really high wind. Then after setting up, I got pushed off-center by a videographer so I wasn't expecting too much but wow, me and tangled cranked the recording out of the outdoors speakers and it really sounds terrific. She got to hear the whole thing just two hours after it finished so she caught up as fast as she could! It's slightly off balance as expected but very sharp and clear aside from the sound issues on stage. The winds died down right as the set started too. I'll mail it out this week.
Tracy added some great fills as she joined for Helpless and Music's Only Outlaw. I always appreciate the guys letting me tape and yesterday, after two alcohol free shows in a row, I was home and got to draw a few cold ones from my tap and CRANK it! ;)
Andrew has a new electric mandolin that's just superb sounding. Mr mandolins always amazes me with his playing and the whole band is cooking. This was a terrific little festival with interesting vending and a nice location. Again, wish I could have stayed longer.
Oh man, after 4hrs in the car a show with 3hrs sleep afterward, 90 miles on the bike and a frantic last minute gear set-up....yup, not too hard to spot me although in my defense, it was for not much more than a song!
Got your package in the mail today, RC! Thanks sooooo much! Especially for that special addition that I may or may not need to hear again because I may or may not have drank too much! :-) It is much appreciated and Riverfest will get a lot of play this holiday weekend at the BBQs! Thanks again!
Hey jgoods....does your copy of this one play through track 9 ok? Several of the copies I made don't including the one for tous. tous, I can't even find my master so I'm gonna have to re-run the DAT....hang tight bro~
