    Thread for Album discussions.....

Well I couldn't find a local suppier on this side on the world, so I've just ordered myself a copy of both albums from Yarnmusic.

Thanks Blake :) Cant wait to fly them on in the car.

These first two albums have a really great sound. Warm and dynamic with excellent vocals.

Hmmmm, what titles are llikely to be on the new one slated for later in '09 from what I understand.

    I'm thinking(among others):

    Abeline
    Alone On The Weekend
    Rock You Ready
    New York City Found

....and DrunkenAngel, if you see this. What's the origin of the I Wanted To Get High song that you guys played at Manchester? Really dig that one.
  2.
    Hey Reckless,

"I Wanted To Get High" was written by Blake and I at my girlfreinds apartment last December. I had vaction days to burn before the end of the year. Blake came over all week for breakfast becasue his roomate had family staying over. In the afternoon we would drive to brooklyn lunch spots that we wanted to try out. On one of those days after breakfast we were thumbing thru one of my note books and Blake picked the first few lines of the song out and starting playing the chords and singing the melody. Both of us thought it was a really solid melody and in the afternoon we colaborated on the chorus. Blake then took the song to the band and the rest is history.

    Love,
    Shane

These Bars Don't Seem Too Friendly
Bobby Weeks & Out on the Road those are not a new but it's not on any album so maybe it will finally make the cut.

Well Ive had the albums now a couple weeks and I must say it was a little strange going from pure live shows to the album versions. They are really starting to take hold now, but I am interested to see what people (or the band) think of the difference in the band from Andrew mostly on the traditional Mandolin and with the strong Fiddle involvement, to the live band with more electric Andrew and the sax. It is the band evolving, or are there a certain sound they are aiming for with the albums?

Myself I really enjoy the live band sound, but there are definitely a few tracks on the albums that are really grabbing me and I think the fiddle works really well on..

That is indeed a hell of an album right there. There is not a bad song in the bunch. Now I am even more excited to hear the new album. I hope they play a lot of the new songs at the NYC gig on Saturday.

Listening now to a stream on the Family Dog site. "Break My Heart Again" done slow, mellow and wistful. Just great. Also a very nice cover of Oasis "Don't Look Back in Anger". Anybody see the Dog live?

....guys said the new album title is looking like it's gonna be Come On In. I like it.
  10.
Another timely bump with the guys at least sporadically working on number four. Come On In eliminated from above everything but:

    Rock You Ready
    Bring me Down
    Bobby Weeks
    Hard Luck Man
    Don't Worry 'Bout Me
    You See The Sun
    On The Road
    Lou Ann
    Turn Your Lights On
    Take Me Out Misery
    Let's Get Dark

    .....and as of late:

    It's All Over Now
I know Daydream's from the past but cripes!
    Shine A Light On
    Singing Jim Croce
    Southern Rock Song
    Annie
    Nashville
    Almost Home
    Bottle Of Wine
    Tired Of Everything
    Christmas Song
    Reckless
Never Been Much Of A Man

.....and I'm sure someone's gonna come up with something I'm missing~

Wonder how many tunes they have in the can towards the next album?? Any body talk to the guys and get a W.A.G. on when they might wrap it up and get it out. Looking at their summer schedule it looks like they are not going to have much free time off the road for studio work.
