    Thank goodness for this post! I was thinking of throwing out the question myself.     Thanks for the link tous. I just picked up the new Crows album. Its a live album from Town Hall in NY. I was at that show and it kicked ass. I just wished the released the whole show. They played 3 sets and an encore. The CD/DVD only has the 1st set. Still worth picking up. Its there debut album August and Everything After loive from start to finish.

    I'm still too Yarn fucked to listen to much else. I know I'm weird but I do tend to be the musically obsessive type. The only other current band that can yank my attention away is the Drive-By Truckers. Although they're more of a rock band, there's a tremendous parallel lyrically as not much ever goes well in a Trucker's song either.

    Ha, was crankin' one of my faves just last night:

    I am the same way Reckless. It's been all Yarn 24/7. However with the Ryan on the way and the new Counting Crows live album out now I do have something else to listen to. The DBT are cool. I dig them. the new album from Jason Isobel and the 400 Unit is also great.

    I am so glad to read your posts, RC and earlbny! I too, am Yarn fucked... I do occasionally try to taper down with some of my old standbys, but Yarn's amazing albums and the near-constant stream of new shows on Archive (thanks again, fellas) are sooo hard to stay away from! I've seen DBT and Big Daddy Love a couple times and enjoy live music, but nothing else has hooked me quite the same! I suppose I'm going through an obsessive phase too (the last one of which was Zeppelin, so the boys are in good company), but I really should check out everyone's lists! Thanks for sharing, y'all! :)

    Checked out the band Uncle Lucius after reading the SXSW review earlier in the week and thought I'd share. Badlab, they're playing in your neck of the woods on June 8th at the Morganton TGIF concert series. The description on the TGIF page describes them as "Southern Boogie Rock from the heart of TX, the way your momma likes it." :)

    Just caught Wilco here in Zurich - great show. I really like Trampled by Turtles. I'll be in the US in April and am gonna catch them at the Cradle in Chapel Hill on April 24 - pre-MerleFest music - just what the Dr ordered for my music-deprived life in Zurich ;)

    Here is what I've been listening to in between all my Yarn music.

    Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real. He's Willie Nelons son. He sounds like his Dad but Plays the guitar like Jimi or Stevie or Santana or Clapton. That's what Amazon said. They Jam.

    Justin Townes Earle. He's Steve Earle's son. He's a mix of Folk and Country I guess. His new album is really good.

    Last but not least is Tyler Stenson. He's a singer songwriter storyteller from Portland. Like Yarn he's unsigned and trying to get discovered. He's firm believer in 3 chords and the truth. He reminds me James Taylor meets Josh Ritter.

    Is anyone familiar with Rayland Baxter? I came across him via Odessa Rose Jorgensen a few months back and really like what I've heard. He reminds me of an earlier David Gray. I believe he played the same SXSW venue, same night as Yarn.

    Here is a song from Tyler Stenson. He's an unknown singer/songwriter/storyteller from Portland OR. Tyler Stenson performs his newest original song "The Arsonist" live at the Alberta Rose Theatre in Portland, OR. This song will be released on his upcoming album "Some Days I'm a Lion" in October of 2012. Stay tuned. I can't get enough of this song. What do you guys and girls think of it?

    Earlb, I gave a listen, I agree, great song. I went to his website and gave listen to some other tunes .. very good.
    Maybe you should send a note to Blake, to go check them out, On May 10th, YARN plays at 7:00 in Portland and Tyler stenson plays @ 5:30 somewhere else in Portland, can't imagine that the places they both play could be more than a short log truck ride apart.

    We've got relatives in the Eugene area, we'll tell em to head up to Portland on the 10th.

    I'm not surprised I like Tyler Stenson, I think that almost all recommendations from 5guitar folks turn out to be winners.

    It looks like they got some interest from Chevrolet for commercial work.

    Myself, I have been listening to "Sons of Bill" for a couple of years or so based on a comment/recommendation by Blake in a magazine. They are from Charlottesville, Va, three members are sons of a UVA professor named Bill Wilson....hence the name. They have a new release called "Sirens" you can stream four of their songs and help release more by liking them on facebook. Their website is www.sonsofbill.com.

    I sent Tyler an email nd he said he will see if he can make the Yarn shows but being that he's playing his own gigs he not 100% sure. He said thank's for digging his music and spreading the word to your friends and family. He also said that the video I posted above is still new and he's playing it live and trying to work out the kinks and make it sound just right. Kind of like what Yarn does.

    Hey Earl, I have seen 2 Chris Robinson shows in the last year and they have both been very good, great music and sound. I will be seeing him again in July at Ziggy's in Winston-Salem, after three nights of Yarn, hopefully hopped and brouche will meet me at that show too!

    We recorded an Allmans show at the Beacon back in 1996 or so that featured Chris Robinson on vocals for a Southbound and it was the most awful thing I ever heard. Then saw the Crowes open up for something and again, I was way less than impressed. Then I watched a Crowes concert thing on TV last year and sat in amazement as the band did absolutely nothing for 40 minutes.

    Relaying that to jgoods is probably the reason he avoids us. ;)

    So all in all I've tried but cannot see what others see in this cat. Since earlbny and you other cats are into this Brotherhood thing I suppose I should check it out and give it one more try for the sake of it all!

    At the very least you get great guitar work from Neil. He works it out.

    CRB is coming to Brooklyn at the end of the month. I wanted to go but I have tix to see Hot Tuna that night.

    The new live album from the Tedeschi Trucks Band is steller. killer stuff. I love the cover of Uptight (Eveything is alright).
