I have a ton of sets to up that Andrew handed off so I figured I would just start a thread to put them in as they are added in case most folks here don't have OCD yet when it comes to looking for new music at the internet archive.

Thats bgreen! Can't wait to grab these! While I am slightly OCD about checking the archive, this certainly makes it easier. Still hoping a tape of the New Year's show pops up someday down the road.....
  1.
brion, the 10/3 show has Neumann listed but that was from my earlier mistake. The mics are actually Audio Technicas.
  2.
jgoods, it's such a shame when a Yarn show doesn't get taped!

I thought I had someone lined up to capture that but they cancelled a few days before. I know travis tapes a lot of these with his recorder, maybe he got NYE too?

That would be great. for more local shows of other bands, I will borrow my friends rig, but couldn't travel those days with it or I would have done it. Oh well, we'll keep an ear out!

I feel guilty asking folks for stuff, esp bgreen who I managed to blow off entirely! Fuck man, I dropped the ball plain & simple. I do have the Vermont 8/8/09 that I might be able to redeem myself with if you don't have it already.....don't remember if I got a chance to pass that off to mandolins and I haven't seen it posted. I believe it's Hard Luck Man's first appearance~ Decent sound...you guys know Jack's rig by now.

That said, with Yarn not coming around here for a spell, I'd be very pleased if someone could snail me the new Tin Angel show and perhaps the one above. No rush but I haven't heard Let's Get dark~

bgreen - wanted to thank you for all the help posting our shows on archives.

Since it seems like many like to know the recording source for posts, I can tell you that many of the shows recieved from Andrew (from the last year or so anyway) are taped on an Olympus LS-10 Linear PCM Recorder with the record mode set at 44.1kHz/24bit. It can record up to 96 kHz/24bit but set at that level there usually isn't enough room for a full show. I think you might have actually used the little guy one night in Harrisonburg, PA but if I remember correctly the batteries died. Good thing you had your real rig to capture that one. A fun night. Anyway, thanks again and we will keep sending you what we get...

Unfortunately I was not able to get the New Years show in Raleigh but I did see a mic in the room so maybe one of these days it will show up.

Next up are Nectars from Dec and The Double Door Charlotte, NC on the night before NYE with a full Band set. Both sound pretty good I think.

    Thanks man,

I figured thats what they were but didn't want to guess. I can go back and amend the ones i upped, not hard.

I remember flying that in harrisburg now that you mention it. looking forward to catching you guys there again, fun room.

Thanks again for taking the time to capture these!!! Looking forward to more, should have the llast batch tied up by weeks end ;-)

    Notes:

From the taper - "Band was on fire as usual with Andrew and Rod trading back and forth some
terrific licks. Jay & Rick booming and Blake and Trevor sounding great. Crowd was mostly ok
but for a few chatty chicks who for some reason set up camp in front of the band and then
constantly screamed at each other over the music. I moved my mic stand away from them but
in short order that crew broke up and dispersed. The Red Sox/Yankee snorefest that ran into
the 13th inning kept many other chatters in the bar area. After A-Rod cracked that homer,
the music half of the hall flooded with folks. Cool enough as the party really got going
then although trying to hear a Whole Zoo through all that is tough. That's prolly why the
band went into the two Dead covers and got the whole place dancing it up. Great versions of
both of them. I'd have preferred a Strikes and Gutters but I suppose a bitter man don't seem
to have no say! Ha ha. Seriously, they play so well I'm not concerned with what they play.
Came back to close with the Helpless and Andrew really riiiped up that one.

Sound is very good. No Trevor, Rod does his best to make up for him! Quiet crowd at the start but the boys win them over about 1/2-way through.

Oh no problem man, I make promises with the best of intentions and end up typing regrets all the time ;)

I'm most interested in hearing the Kenny's Castaway show.

Darn tous, I wasn't planning on the Tamanny show but you gots me thinkin' hard now. It's just too long a drive for an old man like me to make work the next am. Sure would love to go to it though...
