Welcome, Guest

  1.
So, this will be the first Yarn show of 2018. Yarn has played Roanoke before, but I believe that this will be their first show at this venue. Five Points is a relatively new venue, having opened in January 2017 and I don't believe Yarn has been there yet (if they were I missed it). I know a bunch of us have spoken of going to Yarn church, this venue is literally a church that has been converted, so I'm going to Yarn church.

Unfortunately not going to make the Willow Tree this weekend (I've been wanting to get there but it just haven't worked out) so this is going to have to be in place of that for me.

Hope to see some of you all getting up and getting down that evening.

So the first Yarn show of 2018 was a barn-burner. Or church-burner, such as it is. They played a great, high energy show. There were some tweaks in some of the songs--new opening licks, new solo grooves. Good energy, great songlist. We got a first time played, a barely played song making its return to the setlist, and a guest artist. I am not sure I've seen an I've Gotta Go in a little while, either. My wife was kinda surprised they played Let Me In, given the setting (it did not surprise me). I did expect either a Let Us Pray or a When the Summer Ends (encore) also given the setting. It's gonna be a great year!:

Thanks for the low down SouthernMan. As long as Yarn is a part of it, every year is a good year. I am sure they were excited to play given a 24 day lay off. MOO, as an opener is pretty freaking awesome. Heard "I Gotta Go" a couple of times last year, so maybe that it's making it back into the mix. Hope to see you and many other hardcore Yarmy folks sometime this year. No taper is kind of a bummer.

    Thanks SouthernMan.

MOO opener is very cool and I Let You Down is my favorite song on the entire setlist.
